Chapter 18: Home Sweet Home

NORMAL POV

"Okay Alyson you're up." Paul says to Alyson as she grabs her microphone. "Thanks again for doing this on such short notice." He adds as Alyson nods.

"No worries besides I'm doing this for Liz. She was having the worst time and I'm glad she got to go home where she feels content." Alyson says as Paul smiles.

"Break a leg." He says to her before she walks off to go on stage.

"Dad have you talked to mom, Frankie, or at least Liz?" Nick asks his dad as he sighs.

"I talked to them an hour ago and they said their flight will land in about an hour." He says to his son as he nods.

"Guys why is Alyson out there and not Liz?" Joe asks as he walks up to them.

"You don't know? How do you not know?" Nick asks as his dad shakes his head.

"Alright dad we have another act in case Alyson doesn't take up all the time." Kevin says as his dad nods and walks away.

"Kevin can you believe Joe? He didn't even know Liz, Frankie, and mom left." Nick says as Kevin turns to look at Joe surprised.

"I can't believe you. No actually I'm lying. Joe hasn't cared much for Liz during this tour." Kevin says as Joe looks at him confused.

"I haven't cared? Kevin, Liz has done some pretty messed up things but I haven't stopped caring." He responds as Nick shakes his head.

"What has Liz done? She's been nothing but civil with Ashley, at least in front of her." Nick says as Joe scoffs.

"She got away with it, figures." Joe says as his two brothers look at him confused. "She slapped Ashley and for no reason at all." He adds as Kevin and Nick exchange looks.

"No reason at all? No I refuse to believe that because as someone who knows Ashley's true colors I know something happened." Nick says as Joe shakes his head.

"You know Ashley's true colors? Nick, last time I remembered I'm the one who's dating her." Joe says as Nick shakes his head.

"Behind your back she's been a bully to our sister and you've been to lovesick to notice. Liz has tried to tell you but you won't listen to her. You've been choosing your girlfriend over your own sister." Kevin says as Joe looks at him in disbelief.

"I'm the reason she's not here. If only I believed her earlier, she would've still been here." Joe says as his brothers look at him with an apologetic face.

LIZ'S POV

"Home sweet home." My mom says once she opens the front door of our house. "Feels good to be home." She says as Frankie and I walk through.

"Sure does and it will feel even better when I plop down on our couch." Frankie says walking into the living room.

"You look tired honey. Go lie down and call it a day. I'll tell Frankie to carry your bags into your room." My mom says to me as I shake my head.

"I'm actually not tired but I am hungry and I've missed you're homemade dinners." I say to her as she laughs.

"I've missed cooking in my kitchen so I'll be glad to cook up some dinner." She says as I smile.

I look around and begin to think about the years I spent here. Biologically I may not be a Jonas but this was the home I was welcomed too.

"You okay?" I hear Frankie say from behind me as I sigh.

"You know a lot of people have asked me that question and honestly I don't know how to answer." I say to him as he nods his head.

"I would say I know how you feel but unfortunately I can't. I don't think there's anyone out there who knows what you're going through." He says as I turn to look at him with an alert expression.

"There is someone." I say to him as he looks at me surprised. "Frankie, the hospital accidentally switched me with someone else. There's someone out there living the life I was meant to live." I say to him as he shakes his head.

"Liz, there's millions of people living on this earth it must be impossible to look for them." He says as I sigh.

"It wouldn't hurt trying. Don't you want to meet your sister?" I say to him as he sighs and shakes his head.

"You're my sister." Frankie says to me as I shake my head.

"According to biology I'm not. There's someone out there that has your DNA. Don't you want to meet her?" I say to him as he shrugs his shoulders.

"I don't know." He responds as I sigh. "Why are you suddenly interested. Wait is this why you wanted to come home? To find her?" He asks as I shake my head.

"I've told you several times why I wanted to come home. That tour wasn't a good place for me to be. With the whole Demi thing happening and Ashley. I can't be there. At least not right now." I say to him as he looks at me with a stern look.

"Something happened. Liz you have to tell me. Did Ashley do something to you?" He asks as I shake my head.

"She didn't do anything. She said somethings but she's always done that." I say as Frankie continues to look at me waiting for me to say more. "I did something and I'm not proud of it. I couldn't take anymore words from Ashley. She said if I threatened her relationship with Joe she would tell the world that I'm not a Jonas. I slapped her and Joe saw." I say as he looks at me surprised.

"Liz, I'm not saying I'm disappointed but you should've told me." Frankie says to me as I shake my head.

"That would've changed things. You wouldn't have agreed to come back home." I say to him as he nods.

"You should've apologized and you should've told Joe what has been happening." He says as I sigh.

"Frankie please stop talking about what I should've done. It's in the past and I wish I could take it back but I can't. Right now all I want to do is focus on finding that other family that knows what I'm going through." I say as he nods.
