Chapter 32: The Best Big Brothers

NORMAL POV

"Dad, I'm really sorry I caused such a big fuss about everything. I'll try my best to fix this problem. I swear." Liz says to her dad as she enters his office.

"Liz, what are you talking about? What you did back at the radio station was great." He says to her as she looks at him confused.

"I made myself sound extremely rude to that guy even though he was kind of being a jerk." Liz says as her dad chuckles.

"Exactly he was being a jerk so what you did was a good thing." Her dad responds as Liz nods.

"Glad to hear that cause I don't know if this could be fixed with a little public apology." Liz says as her dad laughs again.

"Liz! Look at all these tweets your getting." Her mom says as she comes running in with her phone in hand.

"Oh my god these are alot and they're mainly positive." Liz says looking at the phone.

"Dozens of other Artists have come out to support Liz since they're also tired of interviews asking them personal questions when the focus should be on their music." Denise explains to her husband as he nods and smiles.

"Well I'm glad this had such a positive outcome." Paul says as Liz looks up from the phone to smile at her dad.

"Things are really turning around aren't they?" Denise says as Liz's smile drops.

"They kind of are but this was only my first interview since I went back to work. What if this was the only high point?" Liz asks her parents as they shake their heads.

"Your brothers also had a fair share of bad interviews but I learned that they don't come in twos. They only happen once in a while." Paul says as Liz nods.

"Well let's hope the same thing can be said about me." Liz says as her mom sighs.

"Liz, you're a very strong girl and I can assure you that there's nothing you can't handle." Denise says as Liz sighs.

"I'm scared that questions of being switched at birth will follow me throughout the rest of my career. It's going to be a brand that will never end." Liz says as her parents exchange looks.

"They'll eventually stop. I mean remember when the news first broke, paparazzi would not leave our front lawn and now not one is in sight." Denise says as her husband nods.

"Your mother's right and we've done a pretty good job of keeping everything secretive so no one will ever find out about Adriana or your biological family." Paul says as his daughter nods and smiles at them knowing everything was going to be fine.

LIZ'S POV

"Hello is anyone home?!" I yell as I enter Joe's apartment. I was told to come fast because some exciting news was awaiting me. "Joe!" I say again as I set my stuff down.

"I'm right here." Joe says coming from the hallway making me jump.

"And I'm here too!" Frankie says as walks beside Joe.

"Wait your here too. I thought you were at home. Oh my god that means I've been home alone this entire time." I say to Frankie as he laughs.

"Aren't I the best big brother?" Frankie says as roll my eyes.

"Okay so what's the surprise? Am I getting a car? A new flat screen? What's the deal?" I ask they as they shake their heads.

"None. Our surprise, in a way, is sort of better." Joe says as I look at him confused.

"Here you go." Frankie says handing me a folder filled with papers. 

"Oh a file folder! My favorite." I say to him as my two brothers laugh.

"Just look inside of it." Frankie says as I sit down on the couch and open the folder.

My smile drops once I open the folder and see documents with Adriana's name on them. I see pictures of her on the bus, in liquor stores, and sleeping on a bus bench. I shake my head and close the folder fast not wanting to see anything anymore.

"What is this?" I say to my brothers as I hand the folder back to them.

"We hired a private investigator to find out more about Adriana. We thought it was the least we can do since you can't talk to her." Joe says to me as I shake my head.

"You didn't have to do that because I already know everything I need to know." I say as they nod.

"Liz are you sure?" Joe asks me as I nod. "Alright just know that I'll have them here and if you change your mind you can look through them." He says to me as I nod.

"Thank you for understanding Joe." I say to him as he gives me a smile.

"Hey Liz what preschool did you go to again." Frankie says as we turn to look at him and see he was looking through the papers.

"Frankie don't look through them those are for Liz's eyes only." Joe says as he takes the folder away from him but Frankie keeps one paper out. "Give me the paper." Joe says as Frankie shakes his head.

"This is a list of Adriana's past jobs. Now tell me what was the name of the preschool you went to in Texas." Frankie says as I look at him confused.

"I went to Carlisle School in Dallas. Why do you ask?" I say to him as he looks up at me surprised.

"Because Adriana had a job at Carlisle School the same time you attended." Frankie says as Joe takes the paper away from him.

"He's right." Joe says as I take the paper away from him so I could take a look.

"This can't be out of coincidence. Can it?" I say to my brothers as they shake their heads.

"We have to take this to dad." Joe says as we all run out the door.
