Chapter 20: Liz's Night Out

LIZ'S POV

A few day after my brothers and dad came home I decided that it's best to get out of the house and live my normal life.

Thankfully I quickly found a job acting in an independent film and I put all my focus on that. I didn't want to think about the things that were occurring in my personal life. Everyday after work some of my cast members and I would go out to have some fun.

"Ugh can this day be over with." My cast member says as we stand there waiting for further instructions.

"So what are we doing after work? I'm totally craving some soft pretzels." I say to her as she looks at me and smirks.

"You know we're not doing anything right now. We should just leave." She says to me as I look at her confused.

"Are you serious?" I ask her as she nods.

"Yeah. I mean we've been waiting for directions for 30 minutes now. Let's just go." She says as I shrug my shoulders.

"Um...sure let's do it." I say giving in as she smiles and we walk off set without anyone asking any questions.

We got into her car and I didn't ask any questions on where we were headed. After a couple of minutes I notice we're on Sunset Boulevard.

"What are we doing here?" I ask her as she keeps her eyes on the road.

"Well I got a text message saying that there's this really great party going on right now." She says to me as I shrug my shoulders.

Soon we were there and once we got inside something inside of me said this wasn't right. I just entered a bar and I'm not even a teenager!

"I don't think this is a good idea." I say to her as she laughs and shakes her head.

"C'mon Liz don't be such a buzzkill. I mean you're not even going to drink. Unless you really want to. I won't tell anyone." She says to me before walking away. It wasn't a matter of time before I lost her in the crowd of people. Great I was alone!

I scanned the room and found a place where I could sit. I took out my phone and saw it was dead. Just my luck.

"Hey aren't you Liz Jonas?" I hear someone say as I look up and see an older guy.

"I am." I say to him as I turn to look away from him. I shouldn't be talking to him.

"You do good movies and your songs there catchy." He says as he takes a seat next to me. "You okay? C'mon you tell me anything." He says as I sigh.

"Just a lot on my mind." I say to him hoping he would leave me alone.

"That happens to me a lot but hey I just go have some quality time with my good friend, Jack Daniels." He says as I ignore him. "Here, try it." He says handing me a cup.

"Oh hey you made a friend." My costar says as she approaches me. "Oh and hey you got a drink. Is it good?" She asks me as I look at the guy sitting next to me and back at her.

"Um...I haven't tried it yet and I'm not going to. Listen I have to go." I say to her as I stand up.

"Wow are you serious? Liz stop acting like you're an angel. We all know you've worse things than this drink." She says to me as I look at her confused.

"Right I remember." The guy who handed me the drink says as he stands up. "She did coke with that Demi Lovato girl who's in rehab now." He says as I look at him surprised.

"That's what they're saying about me?" I say as they both nod.

"Yeah and I have to say you're so bad ass. I mean you're not even a teenager yet but start them young I guess." She says as I look down at my drink and begin to drink it. It was horrible.

"C'mon there's some people I want you to meet." She says as she takes me to go mingle with people.

NORMAL POV

"Once I hear from her I'll call you back." Paul says into the phone before hanging up and sitting down in frustration.

"We checked Briana's house and she's not there." Nick says as he, Frankie and Briana walk into the living room where Paul was sitting.

"I called all of our friends and they haven't heard from her." Briana says as Paul nods.

"I cannot believe this. I would never expect this from Liz." Paul says as they all sigh and shake their heads.

"Maybe this is her way of dealing with the news of the switch. She's probably alone in a park or somewhere." Nick says as his dad shrugs his shoulders.

"Yeah and knowing her she's maybe at the mall. She always feels at peace looking at clothes." Briana says as they hear the front door shut.

"Did you guys see this?" Kevin says storming into the living room with the rest of his family as he turns on the TV.

"Kids nowadays aren't playing with board games and action figures, they're in clubs chugging down a bottle of vodka." The people on TV say as everyone in the living room looks confused.

"That's right. I mean if you're the parents of Liz Jonas you're doing something wrong." They go on to say as everyone becomes alert.

"What the hell are they talking about?" Frankie says as Kevin turns up the volume on the TV.

"Look at this girl coming out of a club and drinking with people much older than her." As soon as they said that Paul reaches over for the remote and turns it off.

"We need to go find her." He says as Joe shakes his head.

"We've been doing that for more than an hour now." He says as they all sigh.

"She'll come home its just a matter of time." Denise says as they all exchange looks.

"That must be her." Dani says as they hear the front door close.

"Liz!" Paul says as he and the rest of their family walk towards the hallway and see Liz standing there.

"Hey." Liz says as everyone stays quiet.

"We've seen the pictures of you going out with you're new friends." Paul says as Liz shrugs her shoulders.

"Good to know people's cameras are still working." Liz says Paul looks over at his family for help.

"Liz we are very disappointed that did this." Kevin says as Liz sighs and nods.

"I figured and you're probably glad that I'm really not a Jonas because then that will ruin you're family name." Liz says as everyone exchanges shocked looks.
