Chapter 12: A Changed Man

NORMAL POV

"Oh my god this is so good." Kevin says as he eats the street food from the festival that was in full swing in Mexico, one of the stops on their world tour.

The tour had been going on for several months now and everything remained the same. The tension was still present between Ashley and Liz and there was no signs of it going away. Joe and Demi started saying simple phrases and were somewhat friendly with each other. On the other hand, Alyson, Dani and the rest of Liz's brothers continued to make this tour the best tour for Liz.

"Hey check out my hat." Liz says as she wears a hand crafted hat decorated with flowers.

"Nice and I am going to buy more of this dish." Kevin says getting up from his chair.

"Did you guys hear Ashley and Joe having a fight last night?" Frankie says as they all look at him confused.

"They were having a fight? It sounded more like they were watching a war movie." Dani jokes as everyone laughs.

"You know what I noticed last night while Joe and Demi were performing yet another love duet...Joe hasn't told Demi the truth." Liz says as everyone looks at her confused.

"The truth about what?" Alyson says as Liz looks over at her brothers and sister in law.

"Liz not right now." Nick says as Liz nods.

"Ignore me. It's crazy." Liz says as she changes the subject and begins to show Alyson what she has bought.

LIZ'S POV

"I just don't get why we can't talk about it. It's been long enough I can't believe no one has known about it." I say to my brothers frustrated as they stay quiet.

"Liz this isn't our business. It isn't our place to tell Demi." Kevin says as I shake my head.

"I can't believe Joe hasn't told Demi yet. He's changed." I say as they exchange looks. "You agree." I say catching on to their body language.

"We agree but there's nothing we can say or do that will change Joe's mind." Nick responds as I stand up and start pacing the room.

"Remember when I was younger and manipulating people was easy for me?" I ask as I hear them groan. "What if I manipulate Joe into telling Demi the truth?" I ask as they sigh.

"Are you sure it's going to work?" Frankie asks as Kevin and Nick look at me waiting for an answer.

"Trust me." I say confidently. "Nevermind don't trust me. Joe has changed and maybe my little sister powers won't have any effect on him." I add as they nod.

"How about we all team up?" Frankie asks as Kevin and Nick look at him and nod.

"Let's do it." Kevin responds as all of us walk out of the room and go find Joe.

After a couple of minutes of searching we finally found him in the lounge of the venue.

"You go first it was your plan." Kevin says pushing me into the room. Before walking up to Joe I took a deep breath and decided to face him.

"Hey Joe." I say to him as I sit next to him on the couch. He didn't respond, he only gave me a look. "So how are you and Ashley doing?" I ask as he gives me a blank stare.

"Like you care?" He responds as I try not to give him a shocked look. "We're doing fine." He adds as I nod.

"Why haven't you told Demi the truth?" I say as I see my brothers coming into the room but they quickly retrieve.

"What are you talking about?" He asks as I sigh and shake my head.

"You don't remember or you don't want to remember? You didn't break up with Demi. Our publicist did out of mistake. Why haven't you told her? This will give you a chance to be friends with each other and...and..." I begin to say unsure of the words to use.

"You want us to get back together? Liz I understand she's your best friend but that's not going to happen." Joe says as I shake my head.

"Liz let's go." Frankie says he tries his best to get me out of the room.

"What happened to you?" I say to Joe before leaving on my own without having Frankie drag me out.

"Alyson I mean it. Doing all these elaborate activities isn't necessary anymore. I'm having fun." I say to Alyson as she smiles at me.

"Well the tour is almost over in 3 weeks so I think I can say that I was successful in making this tour the best tour." She responds as I chuckle.

"Thank you and trust me I did have fun." I say as she smiles at me and nods.

"Alright as long as you say so." Alyson says as she gives me a pat on my shoulder and runs out of the dressing room we share.

In all honesty, I wasn't having fun anymore. At one point I was but after the confratation between Joe and I had a few days ago everything went downhill.

The tension never went away between Joe and Demi and after that argument we had it made things worse. That night that I confronted him they wouldn't even look at each other during their performance. That night I also realized that Joe and I didn't talk to each other throughout this entire tour.

"Liz you okay?" I hear my mom say as I turn and see her standing in the doorframe.

"I'm fine." I say to her as she nods and lays out my clothes do tonight's show like she does every day. "Actually..."

"Actually you're not fine." She says finishing my sentence as I sigh. "I'm your mother Liz. I know when something is up." She adds as I nod.

"And I'm guessing you know that Joe and the rest of us aren't on speaking terms necessarily." I say to her as she sits on the couch.

"It took me a while to figure out since all of you are so good at building a facade." My mom says as I laugh.

"Well we're all actors." I add causing her to laugh.

"My motherly instincts are telling me that this will all be resolved." She says to me as I smile at her. Before we could talk more my dad came telling me it was rehearsal time for the dancers and I.
