Being human and trekking around in the woods at night with werewolves on the loose probably wasn't the best idea. Even if I was in the presence of two that were totally in control doesn't mean that I wasn't scared out of my freaking mind. It wouldn't be a surprise if Scott and Derek could hear my heartbeat from the bundle of trees they were behind. "Jayla would you calm down? Your heart is pounding." I lifted my head and looked at Scott, shrugging slightly.

"Well, I don't exactly have control over it." Scott sighed and walked over to me, nodding slightly. "Ok-" He stopped and perked up like he had heard something. "What?" He turned to Derek. "Watch her." I crinkled my eyebrows and shook my head. "Scott, I can take care of myself." He shook his head and took off running. Derek grumbled something, causing me to turn to him. "What did he hear grumpy cat?" He squeezed his eyes shut and glared at me.

"Don't call me that. But he heard a scream. Now come on we're going to help him." He started running and I nodded, following him. He stopped, looking at me wolfed out. "Stay here." I nodded and he pushed me against the tree before jumping over the slight cliff in front. There were growls and I glanced from the tree, seeing Isaac along with the two that had just left. My eyes wandered to the left and I saw a very angry looking werewolf standing there. Derek's sister Cora, as I was filled in on the way there.

Derek and Isaac chased after he, jumping right past where I was. Scott stayed, making sure that the girl there was okay. When he was sure that she was okay he ran past me, following Derek and Isaac, leaving me to slowly walk behind them with my boring human speed. They got out of my line of view and I bit my lip. Great, now I don't even have the protection of the werewolves to help me. The footsteps behind me were enough to make me freeze. Please don't be something that wants to kill me. That one line repeated over and over in my head and the footsteps got closer.

A pressure fell onto my shoulder and I screamed, turning around. "Allison? What the hell are you doing? You just gave me a freaking heart attack!" She flinched back and bit her lip. "Sorry, I didn't mean to. But um, why are you out her alone at night, with no form of protection whatsoever?" I smiled lightly and shrugged. "Well I was with Isaac, Derek and Scott. Now I got left behind and well, here we are." She nodded tightly and held something out in her hand. "Wha-"

"It's a crossbow. Now you have something to protect yourself with." My face scrunched up as I took it. "Oh, well thanks, now if I can use it then that will make it extremely useful." She smiled and turned me towards a tree. "Okay to be quick, it's easy, just hold your arms out. Yup, aim. Make sure your hands are steady and you can easily see where your targeting. And then shoot." She pushed my finger down on the trigger and an arrow flew out of the crossbow and right into the tree, where I had it aimed. "Oh god. Okay that's a lot. Got it. Thanks." She nodded and gripped my wrist.

"Come on. We have to go to the school." I scrunched up my eyebrows and she shook her head. "Don't ask, just come on." I nodded and walked with the to the school, when we got there she made us walked through the school to get to the roof and I kept glancing at her. "Why are we here?" She didn't answer and I sighed. We were probably there for an hour when my phone rang in my pocket. "Stiles? You know I'm a little bus-"

"Jay- I-I- can you come to uh, come to the hospital?" His voice cracked at the end, making me stand up quickly. "Yeah, yeah of course what's wrong?" I ran a hand through my hair and brought my thumb nail up to my mouth. "I'll tell you when you get here." I nodded and sighed. "Okay, I-I'll be right there." His voice had sounded weak so I turned to Allison. "Stiles needs me. I-I have to go." She nodded and threw my her keys. "Here, I won't need them, just make sure to bring it back." I smiled lightly and nodded. "Of course. Thank you." She nodded and hugged me tightly.
