Like A 5th Avenue Diamond

I pulled out some of Carters clothes that she keeps at my house, and she took her Spongebob 2 sizes too big shirt and black joggers.

She went in my bathroom to change while I changed in my room. All I put on was a white tank top, basketball shorts, and a blue hoodie.

I sat on the edge of my bed and pulled my chair in between my legs.

"Let me do your hair." I said.

"I don't think that will solve my problems."

"I have to tell you something. Can I braid your hair?"

"Sure."

Carter sat down in the chair and I started braiding. I was about to start talking but my phone started ringing for a FaceTime.

"Can you get that?" I asked not wanting to mess up the braid.

Without looking at who it was Carter slide her thumb across the screen and held my phone out so both of us would be on the screen.

"Speak!" Carter demanded.

"Damn C, rude much." I said.

"Oh hey Carter." A male voice said.

I looked up at the screen and saw that Christian was the one who FaceTimed me.

"Well hello to you Christian." I said playfully rolling my eyes.

"Wassup bae." Christian smiled.

"Bae? You and him, are baes? Daaamn. Well congrats! I would've liked to be told earlier!" Carter said.

"I wanted to tell you at the club, but that got cancelled."

"Club?" Christian asked.

"Yeah, for my birthday."

"How come you didn't go?"

"Um...personal reasons." I lied.

Christian understood what I meant when I said personal and said,

"Imma call you back."

He hung up and Carter semi-screamed.

"Is that what you guys were talking about when I came up to you?"

"Maybe."

"Now if I had came up a minute earlier I would've seen the whole damn thing!"

"Yeah, he asked me to the Fall Ball. We still have to figure out what color we're going to wear."

"It should be a color that compliments your hair color."

"At the moment."

"What do you mean at the moment?"

"I may go all black, or crimson, or I just may stay this color until after the dance."

"Ball."

"Ball what?"

"It's a ball, not a dance."
