Chapter 38
It was the day of the third round to commence. The crowd was cheering with excitement. They were excited for the battles. Some could not believe that they have made it this far. Some were beginning to feel confident since they were able to make it, while some expected it to be more challenging since the strong teams made it.
After the second round ended, Project 7 was beeing talked about. Rumors and gossip began spreading since the fight of Project 7 and Skyscraper.
"I don't feel comfortable in this aura. Something's bothering me," said Lance as he focused his attention at the arena.
"Well, since our last match we have been the talk of the town," said Bryan. "Especially about you, Lance. People were shocked with your true form. Frost mages are really rare these days."
"I know, but it's not really much of a big deal," said Lance.
"Well we can't do anything about it now," said Gavin. "What's done is done."
Then, Nolan suddenly appeared in the middle of the arena.
"Welcome to the third round. For the teams that have lost, you will be returning to the mortal world after the finals. For the remaining teams, congratulations on making it this far," said Nolan. "Now we have two teams in each block. In the first block, we have Diamond and the 7 Stars. In the second block, we have Project 7 and Septem Legata. The third, we have the Ace and Thiria Exousia. For the fourth, we have Flamma Spei and Omega. The fifth, we have the Eradicators and Shadow Strikers. For the last, we have Polaris and Jupiter."
The audience remained quiet as they listened to Nolan announce the remaining teams. Project 7 was really surprised to see that the remaining teams have strong and skilled members. They felt uneasy. They kept thinking of negative thoughts.
"I know what you all must be thinking," Lance murmured to his team. "They're just skilled mages. We can be strong with our own strength. We are a team. Keep that in check."
They all cleared their minds and focused on what's going on.
"Okay, for the third round there will be some changes," said Nolan. "First, the arrangement of matches will be randomized again. So, your team will not be fighting against the other team from your original block. Instead, you will be fighting a team from another block. Next, the representatives of a team will be picked by the principal herself whether you like it or not. Third, flying will be allowed. Fourth, the limits for summoning of beasts or spirits has increased to five. Next," he summoned a crystal ball that floated in midair, "first one who touches this orb will summon the battlefield. Lastly, the losers of this round will not be sent back to the mortal world; but will be retained here in the academy continuing to do low-classed missions. I have explained the changes. Now, let the first match of the third round begin!"
There was a big hologram screen that appeared behind nolan. It showed the first pair of teams who will be facing off. It was Ace versus Omega.
"The representatives of Ace are Shelley Sorecity, Trisha Bellona, and Jerome Hampher," said Nolan as the faces showed on the screen. "For Omega, we have Ally Scott, Grace Higgans, and Dana Orion. Please come down to the arena."
The six representatives stood up from their seats and went to the arena. When they reached the field, both teams stood at opposite sides of the arena and stared deadly at each other.
"Since both teams are ready, let the battle begin!" Nolan announced as he disappeared in thin air.

Meanwhile at Meneyoi, the land of the Eagle's Blessing, the four members of the Tsuchinomichikake were searching for something in the rubble.
"Nice work, Helen," said one of the members as he digged in the rubble. "Because of your impatience, you made our job harder. If you only kidnapped Isaac Ur in secret, we would have been done like weeks ago."
"Shut up, Gordon," said Helen, who burned the entire village and killed everyone in it. "The people here were just too stubborn."
"Oh, yeah? Says the girl who doesn't think before doing stuff," insulted Gordon. "If only I was the one was sent to kidnap this Ur guy, it would take like a few seconds. Unlike you, it took hours."
Helen's blood began to boil feeling irritated at Gordon's words. "Well, if you think you're better, then why not say that in front of my face?!"
"Well, I am. Got a problem?" said Gordon.
"You wanna die now?"
"Shut up, you two!" said a girl with blonde hair. "Focus on the task at hand!"
"Agatha's right," said another member. "You both are just like oil and water. Never get along."
"It's not my fault that I'm stuck with this moron," said Helen.
"Who are you calling a moron, you birdbrain!" taunted Gordon.
As the two argued, Agatha continued to search. Then, as she went deeper in the village, she found the dead body still lying down on the dirt with rubble covering him. It was Isaac Ur. She grabbed him by the collar and dragged him to the others.
"Found him!" She claimed.
"Way to go, Agatha," said the other member.
"Let's head back to headquarters. Our mission is done. Now we can begin the awakening of the eight of them," said Agatha.
"We need to head back quick. We don't want to keep Argentum waiting. His patience is even worse than Helen's," said Gordon.
"I heard that!" said Helen.
"Okay, let's go."
Then, in a blink of an eye, they were gone.

In a forest in Excalion, there was a hidden underground hideout with many paths like a maze. The walls were cold and the area was dark, but torches were lit to brighten up the place a little. There was a room in a hideout that was filled with books and different kinds of sorcery equipment like flasks, pots, orbs and more.
There other members of Tsuchinomichikake were gathered there waiting for the others.
"I wonder what's taking them so long," said a member of the group.
"Don't make a fuss about it. I can tell they're near," said another member.
"We're back!" said a voice. It was Gordon along with the others who were sent with him. "And, we brought a souvenir."
"What took you so long?" said one of the members with an irritated voice.
"Forgive us, Argentum," said Agatha calmly. "It was a long journey, but we finally found the last thing we needed."
"Ah, yes," said Argentum, "the twins are sealed in his body. We need to awaken them first since it's the easiest seal to break."
"I got a question," Gordon interrupted. "If we want Master Gideon back, then why don't we awaken him first?"
"My boy," said Argentum, "Master Gideon's seal is something even way more complicated than these eight villains' seals. His would take much more time since it's a legendary seal. Before we wake him up, we need to wake these eight first. While we're at it, we could play with them."
"Fine," said Gordon.
"Now, let's begin, shall we?" said Argentum.
So, the members of the mischievous group gathered and began the ritual.
