Chapter 3
Lance was just sitting in the bleachers on the corridor near the class he was in. He was looking down as he thought of so many thing, and also regretting so many things. He kept worrying about small things.
Then, a guy that had a big smile went to him. He looked like those happy-go-lucky type of people. His hair was dark brownish and his eyes were a bit blackish. In his eyes, he had hope in everything. He also had a chain around his wrist with a small sword dangling on it.
"Hi, there!" he said with a jolly voice.
"Oh, hey," said Lance as he looked up.
"What's with the gloomy face?" asked the guy curiously as he took a seat beside him.
Lance sighed and said, "I-it's just that my dad enrolled me to this magic school, and I don't even know my powers yet or what I'm capable of."
"Oh! So you're one of those new students. Wait... Your dad enrolled you here and you don't know your powers?"
"Exactly..."
"So, why didn't you stop your father?"
"Because his a sorcerer; and, even though my mom is human, I still have to study sorcery beause I have the blood," explained Lance.
"I could say that your dad had a point," said the guy. Then, he wondered, "What is your dad good at?"
"Well, his skill isn't that unique. He specializes in combustions and incineration. So, whenever he's in his lair I could always here explosions," Lance replied.
The guy chuckled, "So, can you try doing that, too?"
"Well, I tried, but I can't seem to do any explosion like how my dad could do it," he said as he tried to show proof. "See... Non at all."
"Don't worry! You'll know your abilities soon. And, besides, this school can teach you how to learn magic from scratch," he said with a smile.
"Thanks for the encouragement," said Lance as he smiled a bit.
Then, the guy almost forgot to introduce himself. He looked at Lance with a big smile, put out his hand and said, "I'm Albert, by the way, Albert Arclight."
Then, Lance remembered, "Oh, you're at the same testing room as I am, right?"
"Is that so?" Albert pondered and asked, "What's your name then?"
"I'm Lance. Lance Garen."
He suddenly remembered, too. "Oh, yeah!" he said with a shocked reaction. "Now, if I'm not misaken...you were the last one who will be called later, right?"
"Yeah..." said Lance as he sighed and looked down on himself.
"Oh... Come to think of it... Yeah, good luck to you. But, I'm sure, even if you don't pull of something, It'll be fine," said Albert with encouragement. "Don't worry so much. Especially when it's just a small matter."
"I guess you're right."
"So, what are you waiting for?" Albert pulled his arm and said, "Let's go inside before we miss the next one."
Albert pulled him inside and settled down on their seats. They were far from each other, but Albert gave Lance a thumbs-up sign. Trying to say that it's fine.
A guy with glasses came down from the audience. His hair was light brown. His eyes were filled with pessimism. He looked scared. Nervousness rushed in his veins.
"Bryan Sanders, correct?"
"Y-y-yeah..." said Bryan. Feeling nervous.
"What's wrong? Cats got your tongue?"
