Chapter 9
The days were quick. It was already Saturday.
Lance was getting ready for his first day o training with Pagos and Justin. He was supposed to be at bed, but Pagos harshly fored him to get up and get ready. He wore his regular outing clothes like he was going to the mall. He wore a yellow polo shirt with a beige inner shirt. He had a pair of fit, tan-colored pants on, and a black belt around his waist. He also wore white sneakers. When he was done getting dressed, he went down the stairs to have his breakfast.
When he was down the stairs, he saw his dad dressed up in his exercising clothes.
"Oh, hey dad!" greeted Lance as he felt awkward looking at his dad.
"Well? Don't tell me you forgot." said his dad.
"Oh, yeah. Well, its just that I have a thing at school every Saturday, so I can't have trainings with you on Saturdays. But, Sunday is still free," explained Lance.
Then, his father was upset for a moment and said, "Oh, I see."
"Dad, are you okay?" asked Lance as he felt guilty for what he said.
"It's okay. I'm fine. I understand," said his dad.
Lance decided to skip breakfast and go to his training. So, he went out of the house and started walking to school. When he reached school, he saw Justin standing in front of the school gate. He saluted him as a sign of greeting, and Lance saluted back.
"So, where is this so called 'training ground' of yours?" asked Lance.
"Just follow me and you'll see," said Justin with a small grin.
They had a short walk to the training area. It was a grassy area near the river bank in the city. It was perfect. There were only few people passing by there.
Lance was in awe with what he saw. The sky was clear, and the water was fine.
"So, what do you think?" asked Justin.
"It's awesome," said Lance slowly.
"Very nice indeed," agreed Pagos. "Now, let's start."
"I'll just be sitting here," said Justin as he settled down on the grass. "I'll watch what you'll do first."
So, Lance stood in the center where Pagos wanted. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly.
"Okay, Pagos. What's the first thing that I'll do?" asked Lance impatiently.
"Summoning a battlefield is for starters," Pagos suggested.
"Okay, piece of cake," Lance said as he stretched his right arm in front. Then, he said, "Summon the battlefield." But, nothing was happening. He did it again and again, but nothing was happening. Justin was laughing at as he watched him failing every time.
"Piece of cake, huh?" said Pagos. Expecting that Lance could ace it on his first try.
"Why can't I summon anything?" asked Lance depressingly.
"Um... Because your too arrogant?" guessed Justin as he continued laughing.
"It's because you LACK energy focus," answered Pagos. Emphasizing the word "focus."
"Energy focus?"
"It's like this, idiot!" Justin stood from the grass and went to the center. He
closed his eyes and focused. Violet aura started glowing around his body. Then, he stretched his left arm to the side slowly and said, "I summon the battlefield."
