Chapter 43

"Faster everyone! We need to get to safety!" The mayor also helped with the evacuation.
The people were already gathered outside the stadium.
"My kids!" A haggard looking woman approached the mayor looking really worried. "I need to find them!"
"Yes, ma'am, we'll make sure we find them." The mayor looked around him for any ranked officers. "You over there! Please find this woman's children. They're missing."
"Yes, sir!" The guard immediately ran off with the woman to find her children.
The mayor continued to assist the people in the evacuation. People tried to remain calm. There were some that are injured. Some were unconscious when the fireballs hit them. The mayor remained collected. Even though some people caused him headaches, he didn't scold them.
"Well, if it isn't the mayor!" George Eros stood across him.
Victor paused for a while to take a look who it was. His determined spirit faded as he saw one of the members of the evil group. He called one of the guards and said, "Please take over the evacuation for me. I believe I have rather some important things to handle."
The guard agreed and left him.
"What are you doing here, George? Didn't expect you to come visit the city again." Victor's face became glum when he saw George.
"Actually, I have. I don't know if you heard the news, but I came here a few weeks ago to pick up a secret ingredient. The problem is that the frost mage interrupted my assignment." George checked his nails and polished it with his robe.
"You did, eh? Well, I guess the frost mage was just doing his job. At least he was being loyal to his city. For your information, traitors aren't allowed here."
"Traitors, huh? Well, you need to improve your security here. It must mean that you're not a good mayor after all. I mean, look at this mess! You're people are suffering all because of you." George was trying to infuriate Victor.
Victor began moving his arms around like he's doing tai chi. Suddenly, the ground shook; and rock hands came out of the ground to hold George. But George leaped  backward evading the rock hands. Victor continued to move his limbs. Then, the trees began to move like it was a living person. The branches acted like arms and tried to catch George, but he blasted lightning at the trees.
"There's a reason why I was chosen as the mayor of this city. Never forget that I can make inanimate objects move. I can even control anything that comes at me." Victor stood calm like the wind rushing through his body.
George blasted lightning at him; but Victor caught it, moved it around him, and redirected it back at George.
George dodged the lightning. He knew it was useless.
"It's useless. I can even make your attacks turn against you. Just leave," said Victor.
"Don't worry. I was just about to." George decided to leave instead. He blew a whistle. Then, his pet hawk came to his rescue. He rode on it and said, "Mind you this, Victor. Your city will crumble to dust. In a span of five years, he will be released from his prison and take over the world. Prepare your best warriors, Victor, because this is just the beginning of the world's end." The hawk flew away while George laughed diabolically.
Victor thought deeply about what he said. Who was this "he" George was talking about. Then, he finally knew who he was pertaining to.
Gideon.

The fire still spread throughout the city. The guards tried hard to put it out, but it kept burning like it has a soul attached to it.
Roderick was leaping from tree to tree dragging the barrier containing the deadly twins. The twins kep banging the walls telling him to release them at once, but Roderick ignored them and continued to leap from tree to tree. Then, they touched the barriers and it began to melt.
Roderick felt that something was wrong. Then, he noticed that the twins were trying to escape. He fell down to the ground along with the twins.
"You will pay for what you've done." The twins landed on their feet while Roderick fell on his back.
"I trapped you earlier. I can trap you again." Roderick summoned his barriers again to contain the twins.
"That trick won't work again," they said. They touched the barrier again and it melted.
Roderick was terrified with what he saw. He wasn't even sure if he was ready to face two of the world's deadliest criminals. "What... I mean who are you?!"
"Like what we've said. We are the Deadly Kirin Twins," they said in unison.
"I am Haiko," said the girl.
"And I am Genko," said the boy.
"Together, we can destroy anything or anyone who stands in our way!" They still had glum faces no matter what expression they're trying to show.
"So, you melt stuff. Doesn't seem deadly to me," said Roderick as he tried to make his anxiety go away.
"You're mistaken, boy," they said together.
"We don't just melt stuff," said Genko.
"We make them rot," said Haiko.
"Everything we touch-" Genko said.
"-turns into rot," Haiko continued.
"I see." Roderick stood up from the ground and cleaned his white robes. "Well, it doesn't matter. I will still stop you."
"Fool," said the both of them. "Before you even end us, we would have ended you already."
"Let's see about that." Roderick summoned a disc in his hand and threw it at them.
The twins caught the disc and it melted in an instant. Haiko expanded her hand into the size of a boulder. She raised it and tried to smack Roderick with it, but Roderick leaped away from it. When her hand hit the ground, the ground immediately decayed. Genko did the same and clenched his hand into a fist. He aimed for Roderick too; but he Roderick was able to dodge it. Haiko tried to slap him while he was dodging Genko's attack, but Roderick got a bead from his bracelet and threw it Haiko's hand. The bead exploded, and Haiko got injured.
Genko was suddenly enraged. He felt furious when he saw his sister crying. "What did you do to her?!"
"Duh. What did you think I did?" said Roderick.
"You will pay for what you've done!" said Genko with rage. "Haiko, merge with me!"
"But it's still too early for that," said Haiko as her tears ran down her cheek.
"Let's do it, so that we can beat this worthless insect," said Genko.
"Um, hello! I'm standing over here. I can here everything you say," said Roderick.
"Shut up!" Genko shouted at him. "Come on, sis, let's do it."
Haiko was thinking of it for a while. Then, she nodded. "Let's do it."
Genko smiled at her. Then, they somersaulted away from each other. They both ran toward each other. Then, instead of bumping each other and falling on the ground, their bodies began to merge into one giant titan. It was as tall as a ten feet. It didn't even looked human. Her hands were so huge that it could crush a moon. It looked like it had two faces. Its right side looked like a girl's face while the left looked like a guy's face. Everything about it is creepy.
A chill went down Roderick's spine. He couldn't take his eyes off of it. He was already shaking. Staring at it longer made him wanna barf.
"Prepare yourself, boy! You're close to death's doors." The giant laughed insanely.
Roderick didn't know what to do. Could he even defeat that thing? Would he even survive in the battle?
