Chapter 46
Now that four of the guys are done. It's time for the two girls to finish up their battle.
Shannelle was just can't stand the heat. She hates hot places a lot. She hates it when her skin gets tanned. She would rather freeze to death with pale skin rather than being burned alive while having a tanning session.
Shannelle wanted to end the battle as quickly as possible. She wanted to get out of the area already. The more she stayed the more irritated she got. Plus, she got a burned leg burdening her.
She's almost out of spirit energy due to her excessive use of magic. She felt that she wasn't balancing it equally to each spell she casts. She's cursed this ability of hers because she can't manage to equally distribute her spirit energy. She hated being an enchantress. In fact, she had always dreamed that she was born in a different bloodline of mages. An example would be Roderick's. She doesn't care if it's only defense magic as long as there aren't any complications to it. On the other hand, her type of magic forces her to memorize spells or chants. Sometimes she would forget a word in a phrase.
Shannelle was being cautious as she was fighting Genevere. She was about to lose her temper, but she needs to be careful at the same time. Shannelle was trying her best to control her spirit energy as she chanted spells. Calling out her summons also drains her spirit energy, so she makes sure that she chooses the right summon.
Genevere was having fun pkaying with the lava like it was plain water. He manipulated it very gracefully. During the battle, he fought very well with unique style. Shannelle also observed it, so she began to wonder how a graceful person like him ended up being a villain. Shannelle was very sloppy when it comes to fighting. She just throws random punches and kicks. She's not the type who goes for technique. Shannelle kept chanting spells and throw them at Genevere. She's going for all out attacks.
"What's with you all of a sudden? I can see that you're pumped," said Genevere. He stood on the molten rock like it was nothing. Of course, lava was his specialty anyway. He threw lava balls at Shannelle, but she was able to leap away. There weren't any floating rocks left. The trees around her were starting to burn as well.
Shannelle kept chanting spells and summoning elemental attacks such as fire, water, or lightning. Water would be best, but she didn't have much spells of it in her book. Shannelle was getting tired of jumping from one spot to another. She can't summon her pets too because it would drain a lot of her energy as they stay out for too long.
Genevere loved seeing her in peril. He kept throwing lava at her. He was already playing with her.
"I can tell you're holding back," said Genevere as he continued to manipulate the lava.
"Oh, really?" She chanted some words, and five elements appeared in front of her- fire, water, lightning, earth, and wind. They levitated around her.
"Something different,eh? Well, it takes more to impress me," said Genevere. He threw a pile of lava at her. Then, Shannelle blocked it with the elements.
Genevere began to smirk a little. He felt something fun was about to happen. He threw more lava at her, but Shannelle was able to control the elements like a pro.
"This is getting interesting," said Genevere, throwing more lava at her.
"Oh? How so?" Shannelle was able to block the lava with the elements.
"I can't tell. Let's just see how much fun it would get." Genevere manipulated the lava under her. The lava bursted like a gyser below her. Shannelle wasn't expecting that, so she got caught in the gyser.
Genevere laughed as he saw her caught in his sudden attack. When the lava was gone, Genevere saw her protected by the five elements. He was surprised to see that. How could she control the elements in just short notice.
"Surprised, huh?" said Shannelle. The rock she was standing on got melted, but she summoned a new rock with the earth element. "As you can see, these aren't just plain elements around me. They also have a will of their own. They are element spirits."
"What? So, you've signed contracts with them? How could you keep them out for so long?" Genevere was filled with questions in his mind.
"They are not for negotiating. In fact, they are not plain summoning beasts that you sign a contract with. They are just a spell," said Shannelle. "Thanks to this spell, I cam save some of my spirit energy."
"Clever. But, let's see how long they'll last," said Genevere. He managed to create a lot of lava balls and threw them at Shannelle simultaneously.
Shannelle was able to make the five elements collaborate with each other. She also managed to combine elements to form new elements such as ice, sand, and even lava. She felt like she had the advantage. She was already having fun.
Genevere felt like he was getting belittled. He didn't like it when he's beeing looked down on. He temper was already at its limit. Then, he bursted with anger. A huge lava tsunami formed behind him.
The tsunami headed for Shannelle. She blocked it with her element spirits. Then, as the tsunami washed over her, her spirits began to waver. The spirits began to disappear one by one. Luckily, her spirits disappeared on time. The tsunami was gone and it was Shannelle and Genevere facing each other.
Genevere manipulated the lava, and it wrapped around Genevere's hands. The lava hardened and became huge stone gauntlets.
"I'll end this now!" said Genevere as he bursted with rage.
"I'll make sure to end it before you do," said Shannelle boldly, but she didn't know how to end it. Since Genevere put on his gauntlets, Shannelle decided to have a physical combat. She knew that she wasn't good with these types of battles, but it was her last bet.
Shannelle muttered a few words. Then, her feet began to glow; and she dropped her book and walked on the lava. She still felt the heat below her feet. She needs to end the battle quickly because her spell has a limit.
"Feet enchantment. I see," said Genevere.
"Arms and feet enchantment: enhance!" Shannelle's arms glowed as well. "Now, shall we settle this?"
Genevere just stared at her intently. Then, they both charged at each with fists colliding. When their fists bumped into each other, a shock wave spread through the area. They began throwing punches and kicks at each other. Genevere was very quick to block Shannelle's attacks. She was easy to read. Genevere easily predicted which move Shannelle was going to make. Then, he saw an opening and lunged at her. He puched her so hard that she smashed to a wall.
Genevere was coming at her. Then, Shannelle ducked and gave him an uppercut. Her hit was so strong that Genevere flew upward. She chanted a few spells. Then, magic circles appeared in midair surrounding Genevere. She jumped as high as she could until she reached him. With all her strength, she kicked him. She quickly landed on a magic circle and teleported to where Genevere was going. Then, she kicked him upward. She kept teleporting to where he was and threw attacks at him. It was a barrage of attacks. Then, she kicked him one last time; and Genevere fell in the lava.
His body was aching from the barrage of attacks Shannelle did. Luckily, he was able to get up. Then, coming from above, Shannelle kicked downward with so much pressure that the lava around them burted into a gyser. She fipped back and landed on a slab of rock, and her spell wore off. She was already out of spirit energy.
The lava around them began to dry up and disappear. Genevere was lying on the ground unable to move. Shannelle got closer to him to check.
"As always, you are very easy to read," said Genevere weakly.
"I may be just an ordinary enchantress, but I can fight as well. So, don't underestimate me." Shannelle turned and walked away. As she was walking, she saw her book with burned edges. She sighed and said, "I guess it's time for me to get a new one."
