Chapter 19

It was a tough afternoon. The neighborhood seemed quiet except one part. Albert was fighting to the death with Yuki. He already has wounds dripping slowly at his sides. His face, filled with scratches from the ground. He was panting as he continued to charge at Yuki with his katana. Yuki was skipping and flipping with style which made her look cool. She kicked him and punched him in the gut. She shot a couple of bullets straight for his chest, but Albert was quick as he sliced the bullets in half. That made Yuki intrigued.
Albert was panting as he stood stiffly. He said, breathing heavily, "You...sure have...some skill."
"Why have you realized that just now?"
"I don't know. It just came to my head," he replied.
Yuki observed him and said, "Look at yourself. Yet, you still want to continue?"
"A warrior does not give up. He stands for what he fights for," said Albert strongly.
"Oh?" she said, smirking, "Prove your words, then, general."
Albert moved his foot forward, and he crouched a bit. He pointed his blade at her and pulled it slowly backward. Gently, he slid his finger across the flat side of the blade. Then, he pointed his finger at her and taunted her.
Yuki felt challenged, so she ran at toward him and started flipping. She jumped high and pointed her gun at Albert. While she fell short, she bounced on air to shift to another angle. It seemed that she was flying. She did it again and again until she finished a load. Albert, on the other hand, was in the center slicing the bullets; but he missed one bullet. He got hit in the shoulder, and it bleeded.
"Damn," he said, panting, "you got skill."
"Of course, I do," said Yuki. "And, I see that you don't."
Albert got irritated with her comment and grinned. He said with his eyebrows crossed, "Don't be too cocky." He slowly lifted his blade and dashed. He tried to land hits as he moved forward, but Yuki had a sharp eye to dodge each attack while moving backward. Albert tried to poke in different areas, but he failed. He shifted to her back and tried to cut her, but she dodged again and kicked him. She teleported with incredible speed behind him, and She shot a bullet right in to his shoulder.
Albert didn't see that coming. He slowly knelt on the ground and dropped his sword. He cant feel his hand. It was paralyzed from the shot. He tried to cover his wound, but did not help. His shoulder continued to bleed. It's all over, he thought.
Yuki came close to him. Then, she pointed her gun at him. She looked at him with irritation and said, "Of all my opponents, you are the worst so far. Hey, I respect you for having the guts to challenge me; but sad to say you didn't make it. This will be our first and last combat." She pulled the trigger, and a bullet shot him in the stomach.
Albert fell backward. He was already lying on the ground facing the broad sky. His face was starting to look pale. He watched his opponent leaving him lying around. He weakly said, "Wait;" but she couldn't hear his soft, dying voice. Then, his vision slowly blurred. He faced the orange sky again as the sun slowly set. At least I could get to see the sun set for the last time, he thought.
Before his eyes closed a blue/white figure landed beside him. He could not see the person very well. Before he could say anything, he was already unconscious.

Albert suddenly woke up and realized it was night time. He thought he was already dead. He tried to sit, but he still struggled from the pain. His abdominal area still ached as he tried to move. He was surprised to see himself covered in bandages. Then, he thought: who would even help him? That was a mystery for now.
He got out of bed and walked to his closet to get a shirt. He wore a plain gray shirt. He looked like he was going for a night jog. He looked at his wall clock in his room. It was already seven in the evening. Time really flies, he thought. Next, he saw his window open. That's odd, he wondered. He thought that maybe the one who helped him got in and out through that window. He walked to that window to look outside and see who it was, but he only felt the cold breeze.
Albert shut the window and went downstairs to have dinner. Walking down the stairs, he saw his father's portrait. He gazed on it for a long time then muttered, "I'll be as strong as you someday, dad."
Albert's wish was to be a great hero like his father when he was still alive. Albert's dad was a great warrior. He served in the greatest war in history when Argos tried to take over the world. He fought there at a young age. Then, he passed away when Albert was at the age of three. He went on a life or death mission in Ylior. It's a land in another dimension called Excalion. Excalion is a dimension where most magical people lived; however, there are some magical people who lived in the real world to live a peaceful life.
Anyway, Albert's dad died in that mission because he saved a precious life. He was always remembered as the best general there was, but he's gone.
Albert's dream was to become the strongest warrior like his dad, but one problem he has to face now is his step dad.
Albert entered the dining room and saw his family waiting for him to take a seat. A guy was sitting in the middle. He had a stern face with a matching blond crew cut. He might as well be the step father. Sitting beside him was an elegant lady with wavy golden brown hair. She looked gentle as she stared at Albert. She might be the mom. Lastly, a little girl sat beside the mother she might be nine to 10 years old. She also had wavy hair from the mom, and it was blond like her dad's. She looked cute with her hair tied in a pony tail. She is obviously the step sister.
"Where have you been?" said his step father angrily.
"It's non of your business," replied Albert.
"Albert, honey, don't be rude to your step dad," said his mom cautiously. "I know you love your father so much, but you have to move on. I mean, he's gone and we have nothing to do about it."
"I don't want to. I look up to him and I WILL be as strong as he is or even stronger. I won't move on, and you won't make me!" shouted Albert as he walked out of the dining room with tears running down his face.
"Albert, wait...."
"Let him go, Selia. He won't listen to you no matter what you tell him. Face it, he'll just become a spoile brat like what I told you," said his step dad in a mean way.

Albert was in his room curled up on his bed weeping silently.
"Dad, why did you have to die?" he said in a shaky voice.
Then, a green light shone before him.
He was shocked for a moment, but he felt calm after that.
The green light slowly laid on his bed. Then, when the light faded, Albert was surprised to see what was revealed to him. It was a pair of swords. The blades were thin and measured thirty-six inches long. They were made from the finest and rarest jade crystals. On the blades, there are dragons engraved on them. The hilt was made from gold.
Albert was so amazed to see them. It is so far the best weapon he has ever seen. Then, a voice spoke, "Use these to become a great warrior."
