Chapter 48
Three days have past since the battle between Argus and Lance. The battle left serious damage throughout the city. Some parts of the wall was destroyed, some buildings were in crumbles, and the dome barrier was left with a hole. The mayor was doing his best to make sure that everything in the city would be back to normal.
Lance was still in the hospital lying in his bed. His team visited him from time to time hoping that he would wake up, but currently they are helping with the restoration of the city.
Suddenly, Lance opened his eyes. He felt dizzy at first, but it disappeared too as he got up from bed.
"Where am I?" he asked.
"You're currently in the hospital. You sure used up a lot spirit energy," said Pagos.
"Really? How long have I been here?" Then, Lance remembered. "Wait, is the city okay? Where is Argus?" He panicked for a while.
"I already took care of that. He's gone for good," said Pagos. "Oh, and you have been here for three days already."
"Wow, I can't believe that I used up that much," said Lance.
"I can't believe that were able to survive," said Pagos.
"Well, that's Lance for you!" said Lance as he giggled.
"Oh, please." Pagos let out a deep sigh.
Lance got out of his bed and roamed around the hospital. He saw in another room Paolo lying on the bed while looking out the window.
"Hey! What's up?" asked Lance.
"Oh, I see you've woken up!" said Paolo gladly.
"Yeah."
"You know, I saw your battle from here. Well, some of it. You did great," said Paolo.
"Oh really? Thanks! Anyway, what happened to you?" Lance asked.
"Looks like I don't have much long. I can't fight anymore," said Paolo as he looked down.
"Oh, that's right. The battle you had with your cousin."
"Yup. But, hey, at least I got to experience these things, huh." Paolo still smiled despite the condition he has.
"Hey, don't say that! Who knows? Maybe a miracle might happen." Then, Lance suddenly remembered something. "Speaking of miracles, I think I can do something with that."
Lance got closer to Paolo and placed his hand to where his wound is. Then, he casted a spell. Suddenly, his wound healed up in an instant.
"Try moving around," said Lance.
Paolo got up from bed and twisted his body. He didn't feel pain at all. He became really happy and thanked Lance for what he did.
"Now that you're cured, you can leave the hospital, right?" said Lance.
"I guess? Well, I'm not really sure. I need to go through tests first before being released," explained Paolo.
"Well, you do have a point there. I guess I'll be heading out first then," said Lance.
"Yeah. See you around."
Lance left the room and went to the lobby. When he got there, the nurses were shocked to see him feeling just fine.
"Excuse me, sir, are you sure you're feeling better?" asked one of the nurses in the lobby.
"Yeah. Thanls for taking care of me," replied Lance.
"There you are!" said a voice from behind. It was Bryan. He looked really mad. "We've been looking all over for you!"
Lance grinned and scratched his head. "Sorry. I just got out of bed without letting you guys know."
"Lance!" Shannelle called out. "You're finally awake!"
"Thank goodness. We thought you ran off again," said Gavin. "We'll kill you if you do that again."
"Sorry already! I didn't mean to frighten all of you, okay?" said Lance.
"Hey!" A voice called out from behind them. Lance turned and saw that it was Shelley.
"Oh! Hey, Shelley! How are you? You seem fine!" said Lance.
Shelley looked gloomy as she got closer. Then, she puched Lance in the face. Everyone was surprised with what she did.
"Shelley?"
"I...I thought that you'd disappear. I got so worried. I thought I'd never see you again." Tears began to run down her cheeks.
"Hey, I'm still here, right?" He patted her on the head.
Then, she pulled him closer and kissed him. "That's for last time." Her face was turning red. "I need to go now. Bye!" She immediately ran out of the hospital leaving Lance and the others behind.
"Oh. You didn't tell me that you had a girlfriend." Marjorie teased.
"She's not!" Lance denied. His face was turning red as well.
"Lance, your face is turning red," said Albert. "Please explain that."
"Shut up!"
"Okay, that's enough," said Roderick. "Lover boy can explain everything later. For now, let's head to the Ardenia Hall. Mayor Victor is going to make some announcements."
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot about that. Come on! Let's hurry!" Bryan said.
They all got out of the hospital and headed for Ardenia Hall.
With Lance finally back on his feet, the team continued with their regular business accomplishing missions. Even if trouble comes their way, they will keep fighting with all their might. Who are they? They are... Project 7.***End***
