The holidays were finally here and I was super excited to go home to see my family. Dan and I both received a letter last week informing us that we were spending Christmas in Italy. We were going to be boarding the Hogwarts Express home today around noon.

My bags were packed with essentials that I'd need for the trip. Most of my clothes were at home so I didn't bother packing tons of outfits. Dorea was visiting her older sister and her family for break. Amanda and Lexi were staying at Hogwarts which allowed them to sleep in. Gabrielle was going home to spend time with her family that lived in France.

"Dahl, hurry up!" My name was called from downstairs; I looked at the clock and saw it was eleven forty-five. Bloody hell, I had to get to the train!

Dorea, Gabrielle, and I rushed as fast as we could and stumbled down the stair, lugging our heavy trunks behind us. Charlus, Matt, Dan, and a few other boys were waiting for us at the bottom of the steps. The extra boys that I knew had to be seventh years, grabbed my bags from me and started to walk out of the common room.

"Hey!" I called out after them, they couldn't just take my stuff.

"Don't worry, their taking it to the train. Your welcome." Dan smirked at my confused expression. That made sense, I guess. But why would they carry my bags down to the train? I could just do it myself.

"So, Char, what are your plans for break?" Dan asked Charlus who just shrugged before responding. He explained he wasn't going anywhere special but was just going home. Matt was coming with him, so they would be spending the holiday together.

"I'll be expecting presents from all of you." Matt remarked, Charlus just chuckled before giving him a good shove.

We had finally reached the train station in Hogsmeade and boarded the train. Dan decided to sit with us instead of his Gryffindor friends. The train ride was full of chatter and laughter. I passed out on Dan's shoulder, he didn't seem to notice.

The train came to a halt, causing me to slide off the seat and onto the ground of the compartment. Everyone laughed as I rubbed my eyes and stretched.

"Let's go, Dahl, mum and dad will be waiting." I was lifted to my feet by Dan and the girls just laughed as I stumbled, trying to keep myself up. Charlus grabbed my trunk off the compartment shelf and we walked off the train.

When we reached my parents, I was still half asleep but was immediately awake once I was in one of mum's famous bear hugs.

"Oh sweetie, you look as beautiful as ever." My mum always greeted whenever we had been separated for a while. Dan just rolled his eyes as he got a pat on the back from dad.

"And who is this?" My dad referred to Charlus and Matt who must have followed us off the train to drop off my trunk.

"Charlus Potter." Charlus held out his hand for my dad to shake. Matt did the same before introducing himself, "Matthew Wood."

"Wood? Could your father be Anthony Wood by any chance?" My dad asked with a glint in his eyes.

"Yes, sir." My dad's mouth stretched into a grin and I couldn't help but be surprised when my dad pulled Matt into a hug. My mum just smiled happily before greeting Dan.
