It had been approximately a week since Tom and I had discussed the horcrux situation for the first time. Since then, it has been brought into conversation three times.
The first time, I was pleading with Tom to let it go, terrified that something could go wrong and we could both end up dead. Tom brushed me off.
The second time, Tom had to convince me that what we were planning to do was right. I felt as if I had this invisible weight placed on my shoulders and all because of this damn horcrux. It took three days for me to finally come around and accept the fact that this had to be done. Tom said so himself, without it, we wouldn't be able to be together.
I know it sounds silly, but I knew I couldn't live without Tom. I depended on him greatly, he was my rock. The way he convinced me had scared me right down to my bones. Tom would come up with the most gruesome death scenarios and frighten me into making a horcrux.
After I had finally fully committed to the idea of making a horcrux, Tom discussed what type of object we would use. He had decided to use a diary as his first horcrux, I still hadn't picked what mine would be yet.
As of right now, I was in my dorm room with Dorea, discussing her and Charlus' relationship. They had recently gotten into an argument just the day before. She was complaining to me about one of his most annoying flaws, making it a bit awkward for me because I knew exactly what she was talking about.
"Yeah, I know, Dor. Remember, I dated him too." I rolled my eyes at my friend's frustration. Although we were friends, her nonstop talk about Charlus began to annoy me.
"I'm sorry, I always seem to forget. It feels like so long ago..." Dorea trailed off, not knowing exactly what to say, "But you have Tom now. He's basically your other half."
I smiled slightly as she mentioned Tom, dozing out of her new rant about how Charlus is one of the most unromantic males at Hogwarts.
"He never buys me any expensive gift that Tom always seems to give you, and the gifts he does give me are quidditch related!" Her words made my happy thoughts about Tom dive deeper, bringing up memories I had almost forgotten about. An idea appeared in my mind, making me jump off of my bed. I dropped to my knees and began rummaging through my trunk, searching for the one object that I had been blindly searching for over the past few days.
Once the box came into sight, I sunk back onto the floor, relieving my knees.
"Dahl, what are you looking at?"
My soon-to-be horecrux.

Once I reached the Great Hall, after traveling to the Library and Slytherin Common room during my search for Tom, I spotted him sitting alone at the Slytherin table. Immediately, I rushed over to him and took a seat across from him, my uneven breath causing him to look up at me in confusion.
Just as he opened his mouth to speak, I cute him off, "I know what I'm going to use to make..." I looked around before continuing, "my horcrux."
Tom snapped the book he was reading closed and placed it off to the side gently. He gave me his full attention and leaned forward to be able to hear me better. As I explained that I would be using the locket he gifted me with at Christmas, his face grew a smile.
"You are brilliant, Dahlia. Bloody brilliant!" He exclaimed, a little too loud because we attracted the view of nearby students. In hopes of getting them to look away, and also for my own personal pleasure, I grabbed his collar and kissed him. He responded to the kiss eagerly and when we pulled away, we were both grinning.
"I figured it would be perfect for this. This way I could always keep it close to me and not look specific." Tom nodded, before pulling his book out in front of me and beginning to explain something. Inside the book, there was a list of directions in making a horcrux, Tom had added a few side notes as well.
