The next morning at breakfast, the hall was filled with excited chatter. I had no clue what was going on but I sluggishly made my way to the Gryffindor table. Dorea saw me and patted the seat next to her in an excited manner.
"Morning," I grumbled before loading food onto my plate. Dorea was practically bouncing in her seat while the boys just laughed.
"What?" I snapped at her, bothered that she hadn't just blurt out what she obviously wanted to say. She ignored my rudeness and started gushing about some Halloween party. I raised an eyebrow and she gasped in surprise.
"You didn't hear about it?" I shook my head and she gave me all the details.
"It's only for fifth years and up. Costumes are mandatory and it is being held in the Room of Requirement," She rambled on and on about how excited she was. Then she asked me what I planned on dressing up as.
"Fran and I were thinking we could all dress up in similar costumes. Like a group thing," Dorea said.
"I hope you girls know that they you need to look hot. There's a contest this year," Matthew said with a grin on his face.
"I have the best idea!" Fran surprised both Dorea and me by screaming loudly in our ears. We covered them and the boys laughed at our surprised faces,
"Well, what is it?" I asked, frustrated with everyone. Fran frowned at my reaction.
"Don't mind her, she's just grumpy today." Fran nodded and then proceeded to tell us that she would have to wait until later before we found out what we were being for Halloween.
The boys stopped listening and finished their breakfast at the same time I did. Then, all five of us walked to Transfiguration, the first class of the day. They talked the entire way there and I was just too irritated with life today o converse with them.
I slumped into my seat next to Dorea and Charlus while my friends continued to chatter. The rest of the classroom filled up and I sat staring at nothing.
"What's wrong with you, Key?" I heard Abraxas Malfoy ask me, Tom was standing behind him with a concerned look on his face. Instead of responding I just huffed and looked away. Dorea must have given them a look as if to say 'ignore her' because they walked past us without saying anything.
Charlus and Matthew still hadn't figured out why I was in a bad mood. That pissed me off to an extreme extent because they continued pestering me about it.
Throughout the entire day, I had a grumpy attitude. Tom hadn't even tried speaking to me during potions which I was grateful for. At lunch, I sat quietly and played with my food.
When classes were finally over, Dan came up to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. Seeing the pissed expression on my face, he immediately took a few steps away from me before asking if I could fill in for Gregory Bell at the Quidditch game in a few days.
"Fine, but only because I promised you I would," I said sharply, Dan thanked me before basically running away. He always knew when I was on my period or not, I always was pissed off and not fun to be around. Instead of my usual bubbly personality, I acted like I wanted to kill the world.
I spent the rest of the night up in my dorm, not even leaving it to go down for dinner. Dorea had ignored me and my attitude which helped a lot because I didn't want to deal with anyone.
