It has been a day since the end of Christmas break and I was sitting in my dorm room. Classes had just ended and I had loads of homework. After Herbology, my professor held me back from leaving because she wanted to inform me of my grade. I was close to failing and she wanted to talk to me about getting a tutor. Although I knew it would have been a smart move, I decided against getting a tutor. I promised Professor Huffington that I would improve my grade and asked her for extra credit. She assigned me a fourteen inch essay based on the life cycle of mandrakes.

Therefore, that led me to sitting in my bed, rather than being downstairs with my friends. I was halfway done writing my essay before footsteps pounded up the stairs heavily. Amanda and Lexi stormed into the room with Dorea and Gabrielle close behind them.

"I cannot believe that he would be so disrespectful! My aunt just passed away and I'm not allowed to mourn for her and my family? What kind of git does that!" Amanda yelled, causing me to flinch from the loud noise. Dorea leaned against the wall closest to the door and Gabrielle took a seat on her bed. Lexi was awkwardly trying to calm Amanda down but it wasn't working.

Amanda was pacing the room and was a second away from ripped out her hair before I said, "What the bloody hell is going on?"

"Charlus was being a git, that's what." Lexi snapped at me, causing me to flinch back.

"Maybe he didn't know?" Dorea offered, making Amanda snort.

"He didn't know? I only spent my entire Christmas break with my family and attending my aunt's burial." Amanda shrieked. Dorea, Gabrielle, and I covered our ears trying to block out the noise.

"How would he know that though, Mands?" Gabrielle asked in a calm and soothing voice. This only seemed to make Amanda even madder.

"Why are you all sticking up for him? Your my friends!" She cried out.

"We're his friends too!" Dorea defending Charlus truthfully.

"I see how it is then, get out." Amanda sneered. My mouth dropped open in shock because she had no right to kick us out of our own dorm room.

"You have no authority over us." Gabrielle said is her smooth voice, expressing the thoughts that I was sure Dorea and I were both thinking. Dorea looked as if she was about to attack Amanda, so I grabbed my books and homework supplies before telling her and Gabrielle to just leave.

"Let's go guys, it's not worth fighting over." I said, being the bigger person. Dorea reluctantly followed after Gabrielle and me.

Once we reached the common room, I saw Matt scolding Charlus for being a git.

"She deserved it, and you know it." Charlus snapped back quickly. The girls made their way over to him and took seats on the couch next to his. They motioned for me to follow but I declined because I had to finish my homework in the library.

When I got to the library, it was completely full. That was surprising because there's never a lot of people in here. Although it might be full because Slughorn is giving his sixth years an extremely hard exam tomorrow.

I decided to head down to the black lake and finish my homework there. No one else was there which made it seem like the perfect place to do my homework. I hadn't noticed the grey clouds appearing in the sky which had suggested that it was going to storm.
