Today was the day that had been anticipated for the the entire year. Each house was excited and talking about what the upcoming hours would bring. This was the day that the quidditch championship would take place.

Hufflepuffs, Gryffindors, and half of Ravenclaw were decked out in Gryffindor gear for the game. It was early morning, mid breakfast, and I was already changed into my quidditch warm ups . The entire team was sitting together and since I just arrived, I had to squish between Charlus and Matt to sit down.

The conversation going on was Greg Bell bragging loudly about how good our team had become, in hopes of making the Slytherin team nervous. Members from the other houses, excluding Slytherin, gathered around closely to listen in to what Greg was saying. They figured that he was giving a pep talk but were surprised when he began trash talking the rival team. No one seemed to mind and we all pitched in. I noticed the same thing happening near the Slytherin and Ravenclaw tables.

Ravenclaw was split in half today by colors, red and gold, or silver and green. Those who were close to the line drawn, splitting their house in half, had their backs turned against each side. It was quite humorous to see how serious quidditch was taken at Hogwarts. The intensity was exhilarating.

I loved hearing the arguments of who would win, the strategies being made, the excitement the after party would bring, and the animosity between the houses. Although that sounds awful, I can't help the fact that it's true. Even the professors were excited for the match, each of them promising the students that they would be there.

Professor Dumbledore was wearing red and gold robes to support the Gryffindor house, whereas Slughorn was wearing silver and green to support the Slytherin house. The other teachers wore their normal robes but it didn't take much to guess which house each teacher wanted to win.

My plate had finally been emptied and Greg called for our team to head down to the pitch. We were ordered to change quickly and meet under the Gryffindor section, right between the Gryffindor locker rooms. Charlus wrapped his arm around me and placed a kiss on my cheek before running his mouth to his brother.

"We are going to crush them this year, I just know it." James exclaimed in a determined tone. I couldn't help but agree and laugh at his expression when Charlus said, "Don't jinx it."

The team began heading to the boys locker rooms, whereas Sam and I, being the only girls, went to our locker room. It was funny seeing the boys all trek into their locker room and pushed each other to get through the door, while Sam and I had the entire room to ourselves. We changed into our jerseys quickly and I noticed Sam leave the room to check the weather conditions.

It was perfect weather for a quidditch match but Sam reported that there were grey clouds on their way towards us. This meant that a storm would be coming soon. We'll just have to make the game as quick as possible. Hopefully everyone was ready for a challenge.

Greg and the rest of the team were waiting for us as we exited the locker room. Straight away, he started a pep talk. The talk was encouraging and it showed how strong of a captain he is.

"The Slytherins are known for playing dirty, but you've got to give it all you've got. No excuses for slacking, everyone continues playing. Got it? No subs, nothing." Greg demanded from us, we all nodded simultaneously and I jumped up and down with excitement.

"Now let's go out there, and kick some snake ass!" He shouted, we all cheered in response and grabbed our brooms. Placing my goggles on top of my head, I slowly rose from the ground on my broom.

Sam was next to me, giving me a weak smile showing that she was incredibly nervous. "Hey, don't worry. You've got this, I know you can do it and so do you. Don't let the fact that we are in the championship scare you, just play your game. Alright?"
