This was the most dreadful and anticipated week of the year. Many students have been stressing out so much, they were sent to Professor Slughorn for a calming draught. Others were too embarrassed and had asked me to make them one. I declined, however, making a calming draught was going to distract me from my main goal. This goal consisted of getting O's on all of my O.W.L.'s.
Everyone was freaking out because they had forgotten to study in the previous months. I had been studying for exams week for the past two months. During these past two months, I've grown closer to Fran, Xavier, and Justin. They were all Ravenclaws and were quiet when we studied, unlike some of the Gryffindors.
Since I've been preoccupied with studying, I haven't seen much of Tom. Although I haven't seen him, I knew he was probably studying just as much as I was.
Dorea, Matt, and Charlus had told me they were not going to waste their time studying for these exams. When they said that, I looked at them like they had grown three heads each.
Of course, being Gryffindors, they didn't feel the need to study. This was extremely frustrating to me because I knew that they would end up cramming at the last minute.
Tomorrow was the first day of exams and this carried throughout the entire week. The schedule for the week was: Charms on Monday, Transfiguration on Tuesday, D.A.D.A. on Wednesday, Potions on Thursday, and Divination and Herbology on Friday. There were two exams scheduled for Friday because neither Divination nor Herbology had practical parts to their exams.
I knew that I would do exceptionally well on my exams, but I was still a nervous wreck. Fran and I grew so much closer while studying, it made me realize how much of a good Ravenclaw I would be.
At the moment, I was in the library, studying with Xavier and Justin. Fran was off with some other Ravenckaws studying because we didn't have the exact same exams to study for. She took Muggle Studies and the Care of Magical Creatures while I didn't.
The entire time we were studying, Xavier and Justin had been whispering to each other. At first, I tried ignoring it, hoping that it would go away. Finally, I became fed up.
"Alright, out with it." I snapped at the two of them while shutting my book and placing it on the table.
They looked up at me in surprise and I just narrowed my eyes at them.
"I, uh, was wondering if...." Justin trailed off. Xavier looked away awkwardly and I crossed my arms over my chest.
"You were wondering if...?" I spoke, trying to find out what the bloody hell he was talking about.
Justin mumbled something under his breath. Xavier gave him a nudge and I let out an exasperated sigh. I failed to notice that we were attracting some attention.
"If you'd go on a date with me?" Justin spoke quite loud this time. Everyone in the library looked over at us and I heard someone scoff. My eyes glanced around the room and they locked with Tom's. He looked pissed off, like he was about to come over here and rip Justin's head off. I noticed Sebastian Rosier holding him back from getting up.
"I'm sorry, Justin. This isn't really a good time." I whispered, breaking off my eye contact with Tom and looking over at Justin. Even though I whispered, the entire library heard because it was dead silent. The entire audience either gasped in surprise or started handing each other money, confirming the fact that they were placing bets.
"Well, I mean, after exams are over?" Justin tried again, looking very hopeful. Xavier just out his head in his hands.
Tom's chair fell backwards and everyone turned to look at him, including Justin. Abraxas and Arcturus were soon on their feet as Tom had shoved Sebastian to the ground. He was livid.
