Dinner had just ended and Myrtle was walking with me out of the Great Hall. We both had been very quiet for some unknown reason. I assumed it was because we both felt a strange gut feeling. Throughout the entire dinner I was bothered by it.

Myrtle offered to hangout in the girls' bathroom on the second floor, which I agreed happily to. Anything to get out of that tedious dinner sounded perfect. On the way to the bathrooms, we ran into the half-giant, Rubeus Hagrid.

To be honest, I admit that he does scare me, being so large and such. Although he was intimidating, he always approached me with a friendly smile. He was doing that right now actually.

If Dorea were here, she would laugh at him and pull me away, giggling about how big he is. I always tried being nice to the boy but my fear of giants got in the way of there ever being a friendship between us.

Once he greeted us, we bid him goodbyes and continued on our journey to the second floor bathroom. Since I was looking at the floor, to make sure I didn't trip, I didn't notice that Myrtle had stopped walking.

"What is it, Myrtle?" I finally realized she had stopped and I looked up. A scream escaped my lips as I looked at the sight before me.

A body of a student lied on the floor in front of me, barely ten feet away. Written on the wall was a message dripping with blood, or what looked like blood. It read The Chamber is open. The Heir of Slytherin will finally fulfill the duties of the Founding Four.

Myrtle clutched onto my arm, keeping me from falling over. I noticed that she turned quite pale and we stood there, shocked, until professors finally ran into us.

"What is it, children?" Professor Dumbledore asked, hurrying towards us. It was then that he realized what made us so terrified. He knelt down next to the student as the rest of the staff had reached us.

"Is he dead?" The Headmaster asked, terror dripping from his tone.

"Not quite." This caused many other professors to approach the student.

"Who is it?"

"Clementine Ashford, a Hufflepuff." The Herbology professor answered.

"We must take her to be the Hospital Wing right away!" Slughorn exclaimed, fear lacing his voice.

They lifted her up and took her away from us. The only three remaining were Myrtle, Professor Dumbledore and I. Both Myrtle and I were trembling with fear. Dumbledore tried asking us questions such as why we weren't at dinner, but we were too scared to answer them. He sighed in disappointment before waving his hand and the bloody message disappeared.

"Off to bed you two." He ordered, Myrtle and I sprinted away as fast as possible. When I reached my dormitory, I fell on my bed and without getting a wink of sleep, I thought, 'What were the duties that the Chamber of Secrets needed to fulfill? What even is the Chamber of Secrets?'

When I woke up the next morning, there wasn't an announcement made at breakfast. I was one of the first in the Great Hall, I got up early because I was eager to hear what they had to say about it. All I found out was that Dumbledore tried convincing Dippet to make an announcement, but he refused.

"I don't want to scare the children, Albus." The Head, aster said in a stern voice.

"But they deserve to know the truth!" The conversation was brought to an end as they realized they had a small audience watching them. The two staff members huffed before walking away from each other. I took my seat at the Gryffindor table and thought about what had happened.

The bell rang, signaling it was time for classes and I made my way to Transfiguration. When I finally was seated, I took out my notebooks and copied down everything Professor Dumbledore said. We were learning how to transfigured any object into a mouse.
