Chapter 23: I Found Angel

"You are going to sing later hon." Sabi ni mommy habang inaayos yung white dress ko.

Sobrang excited niya. Nakatitig din siya sa akin na parang isa akong kumikinang na anghel galing sa langit.

Looking at me like nothing happened.

Sucks.

Tumalikod na lamang ako at tinignan ang sarili sa salamin. Hindi ako nainform na magiging ganito kabongga itong birthday ko.

Para na akong magdedebut.

"Hon, sabi ko magpeperform ka mamaya." Inulit niyang muli.

Napahinto ako sa paglalakad. Hinarap ko siya muli at matalim na tinignan.

"No." Matipid kong sagot.

"Bakit? You love to play and sing." She scolded.

"Loved."

"Come on. It's your birthday and we need to entertain our guests. Hindi lang naman ikaw ang magpeperform so bakit ka pa mahihiya?"

"My birthday? Wow. Akala ko celebration ng pagbabalik niyo."

She sighed in defeat. "Allison."

"Mom."

She knows na hindi ako magpapatalo. We've been here for a million times. Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay.

She rolled her eyes. "Fine! Be that way! Just go downstairs when you're ready."

Lumabas siya sa kwarto nang nagdadabog. We'll never get along. She closed the door with a bang. This really sucks. Nasaan na ba si Alex?

Tinawagan ko siya pero di siya sumasagot.

Ugh.

I opened the door and went downstairs.

Madaming bisita, all of them wearing a formal attire. They really did plan this well.

Nasaan ka na ba Alex?

"Ate Allieeee!" A scream of a girl behind me.

Napalingon ako at nakita ko si Eira.

"Eira!"

"Happy Birthdayyyyy!" She giggled. I laughed.

"Thank you, baby."

She's so cute!

"Where's Kuya Alex?"

"Uhm. I don't really know. Kanina pa siya wala dito eh. Lets just wait haaa?"

She nodded and I pinched her cheeks.

There's no doubt why everyone adores her. She's so lovable!

Napatingin siya sa tagiliran ko. To be specific, sa stage. Napasulyap ako.

"What's that?" She asked curiously.

"Oh. It's umm. A piano."

Biglang kumislap iyong mga mata niya. "I wanna play!"

"Uhhh." I was indecisive. Napatakbo na lamang ako roon dahil sa hila ni Eira.

"Let's goooo!!"

Hinila niya muli iyong kamay ko papunta sa stage pero napatigil ako.

"Come oooon!" Excited niyang yaya.

Hindi ko naman gustong malungkot siya kaya sinamahan ko siya. She's a kid after all.

Pagdating na pagdating ko sa stage kasama si Eira, the most unexpected thing happened. One that I never saw that coming.
