11 - Passing Period

~*Whisper POV*~

~A week later~

 

I repack up the pup’s bag while James packs ours. The week at the castle has been like a vacation. And the pups are starting to play and run now.

Once everything is packed a vampire comes and loads our stuff into the car while I carry Light and James carries Shadow.

Both pups have grown a lot and have to be carried separately. They should shift into their human any day now. And from there they should stay human till their late teens. But with Shay’s blood, there is no way to be sure.

When both pups are in the back seat, I turn to Sky who walked us out.

Sky hugs me and then James. “Don’t forget to call me when they shift. I want to see what they look like in their human. Good luck with your alpha training James. And wish health to Daniel when you see him.”

James smiles. “I will and thanks.”

I nod and climb into the back seat with the pups and shut the door. Sky waves as we drive off.

A few hours later we finally get home. We take the pups up to the nursery and put them in the crib to keep them out of trouble then we unload the car. Once everything is put up I sit in one of the nursery chairs and sigh.

James kisses my head. “Well I got to head over to the main house and talk to Daniel. Call or link if you need me.”

I nodd and watch my mate leave.

I look at the pups. Shadow was biting on Light’s leg while she chews on his tail. I laugh and get up.

I pick up Light and lift up her jowls to look at the inside of her mouth. I can see teeth starting to come in.

I check Shadow the same way and see the tops of teeth as well. Both are teething.

I head to my room and grab my cell phone. Once back in the nursery I call Dr. Liz.

“Dr. Liz speaking.”

I sit down. “Are the pups able to be teething before they shift?”

“Uh… Please hold for a moment.”

Some music comes on over the line. I huff and wait for her to pick up.

Finally the music stops. “Whisper, the answer is no to your question. If their teething then they should’ve already shifted. I think you need to bring them in. Without doing a few tests I won’t be able to tell you what’s wrong.”

I nodd and take a deep breath. “Let me tell James and I’ll bring them in.”

The doctor agreed and hung up. Next I call James’s cell phone.

“Everything ok Whisper?”

I stand up. “No, I’ve got to take the pups to the doctor. Their teething and she said that if their teething then they should’ve already shifted. She’s gona figure out what’s wrong.”

James sighed. “Ok. I’m in the middle of helping Daniel right now so I’ll come to the doctors as soon as I can.”

I nodd to myself. “Ok. I’m going to call Vance so he can help me then.”

“He’s here with me. I’ll send him over so you don’t have to call.”

I hang up the phone after byes and pick up Light. As I’m walking down stairs I hear a knock on the door. With one hand I open it to see Vance.
