~*Fay’s POV*~

I sit on the throne and smile to myself.

I could really get used to this kinda of life and power. Who needs family when you can have anything else you want instead.

A door slam draws my attention. I look up to see two large wolves standing just inside of the door that is now a pile of splinters on the floor.

I frown and look at each wolf. The black one has lime green eyes that feel as if they could send me to hell this very second.

I shake my head and look at the white one. The bright yellow eyes make me feel as if they could see into my soul and wrench out the wrong I have done.

I growl and shake my head. “What is the cause for two mutts to enter my newly acquired kingdom?”

A link to my mind appears and a deep voice speaks to me. ‘My sister and I are here to stop you before you cause trouble bigger then you can control.’

A very high pitched voice speaks as well. ‘You will not harm anymore people grandmother.’

I look at the two wolves in surprise. These two beasts can’t be my grandchildren. They are monsters.

A familiar voice speaks through my mind. ‘Time to meet your end my dear traitorous servant. I will be waiting for you.’

I frown as Death leaves my mind.

I look at the two wolves and stand up from my seat. “If you two think that you can defeat me then be my guest. I have taken down Sky and Celesta, two of the strongest Dark World creatures. You think that you can kill me?”

The black wolf nodds and shows his teeth as if to smile. ‘I hoped that we would be able to get some exercise from this. Light, I might suggest that you jump in when you think you are needed. I will handle her till then.’

The white wolf nodds at her brother. ‘Of course Shadow.’

~*Light’s POV*~

I sit down where I stand and watch.

The dark woman called Fay crouches down.

Shadow crouches down and grins mentally over our sibling link.

I shake my head at my brother’s brutality.

Shadow laughs mentally at my thoughts before he lunges at Fay.

I watch as his jaws latch onto the tiny neck of the woman. She is slammed down into the ground before she can even blink.

The shock and surprise registers on her face as she realizes that she is not match for my brother and I.

I shake my head as Shadow starts to boost in our link. ‘She is not a match for us.’

Shadow lets go and backs up to let Fay gather herself.

I roll my eyes. ‘You shouldn’t play games with her, brother.’

Shadow laughs and I just shake my head as I watch Fay jump up suddenly.

The woman lunges at Shadow and tackles his to the ground. She wraps a arm around his large throat and starts to choke Shadow.

But he kicks his feet and throws Fay off. He looks at me and frowns mentally as he gets to his feet. ‘You knew that was going to happen. She’s got quite the grip.’

I roll my eyes again. ‘I told you not to joke around. You surprised her once and it won’t happen again.’

I cut off the mental link so that I don’t have to listen to my brother anymore. Fay gets up off the ground and smiles slightly. “You two are surprising but I will not fall for anymore toying around.”

Fay lunges at Shadow again and as the same time her face changes shape. I watch in surprise as Sky’s face on Fay’s body attacks my brother.

Shadow is taken by surprise as well and doesn’t dodge the attack.

Shadow is tackled to the ground again. Fay wraps both arms around Shadow’s neck and starts to choke him again. But this time she is out of his range of kicking.

Seeing that I’m needed, I lunge suddenly at Fay and I feel my teeth make contact with her body.

When I land I slam her into the ground. The marble floor cracks and a dent in the ground is made. I let go of her and step away.

Shadow is catching his breath and looking at Fay angrily.

I shake my head. ‘You shouldn’t have made my brother mad Fay. You better get your breath fast for this is going to end very quickly.’

Fay coughs and hacks as she tries to get air into her crushed lungs. Finally she’s able to take a deep breath.

Shadow growls. ‘You are going to die!’

Shadow lunges again and grabs Fay by the neck and slams her body into the ground a few times. The marble cracks more but this time Fay appears to be fine.

Shadow shakes his head and throws Fay across the room.

Somehow she lands on her feet and skids to a stop.

I look at her and see the darkness radiating off of her. Looks like she still has a lot of fight let.

Shadow finally notices the darkness to. He cusses mentally.

I look at him. ‘Don’t cuss Shadow! You know better!’

My brother laughs. ‘We are fighting. I think I deserve a little bit of freedom in language.’

I roll my eyes. ‘Wait till I tell mom.’

Shadow looks at me with a frown but then looks back at Fay who is standing in the middle of a very large mass of darkness.

Shadow rolls his shoulders. ‘Come on Light. Let’s end this.’

I nodd and we both lung at the same time at Fay. Shadow bites into one of her arms while I feel a hand grab my throat before I can sink my teeth into a leg.

I feel my body slammed down into the floor and can hear the marble cracking under the weight and force.

Out of the corner of my eye I can see that Shadow has nearly bit off Fay’s entire leg. I try to lift my head but nothing happens. I try to move my body but it doesn’t obey my commands. I take a deep breath and am relieved that I can still breathe.

I just lie on the floor and watch as y brother finally snaps the leg off of Fay.

She screams an ear piercing scream and both her hands go straight to her leg as she falls to the floor.

Shadow walks over to me and sniffs at me. ‘Can you move?’

I try to shake my head but nothing happens. ‘No. I can only breathe and watch.’

Shadow growls and his lime green eyes darken to a forest green.

He turns toward Fay and growls. I can almost see the sudden rage coming off my brother.

Fay is still screaming clutching the stub that is left of her leg.

I watch as Shadow lunges at Fay.

All I can see is Shadow’s backside and hear a loud crunch as Shadow connects with Fay. The screaming turns to a gurgle before the room falls silent.

Shadow comes back over to me covered in blood.

He nudges me before nipping my ear. ‘Shift if you can.’

I nodd and obey my brother.

I feel my huge wolf disappear as I turn back into my small human girl form. I feel teeth very gently pick me up and I watch as I am carried outside to where our parents are sitting on the car hood.

Mom jumps up and takes me from my brother.

She holds me against her chest and runs to the back. I hear Shadow’s voice as he explains. “Light is paralyzed.”

I am put down on the back seat of the car as mom wraps a blanket around me. I suddenly feel tired so I let myself drift to sleep.
