~*Shadow’s POV*~

I lie in bed and stare at my sister as she sleeps. I can see her dreams in my head as I listen over the mind link.

I watch as she dreams about me fighting Fay. The dream shifts to a nightmare as she relives how she was attacked. Only in her dream it seems much worse.

I sigh and watch as my sister suffers. Light shouldn’t have to deal with such dark things. But it is who we are.

I roll over and cut off the link between our minds. I hear the door open so I sit up. The doctor is checking Light’s vitals.

I shake my head. “She is fine besides the nightmare. I told you that I will call if there is a problem.”

The doctor swallows and leaves.

I lie back down and look at the ceiling. I hear a bed squeak and look over at my sister. Light’s head has rolled to its side as she sleeps. I watch as she slowly rolls her head back to the other side.

I smile as I understand. Her body is healing itself.

The door opens again and this time it’s mom.

I sit up and smile. Mom smiles back. “How is your sister?”

I sigh. “She will be back to normal by tomorrow afternoon. Where is dad?”

Mom nodds. “That’s good. James is back at the castle still. We found someone who may be able to take Celesta’s place. James is going to stay here for a few weeks but we are going to go home.”

I nodd. “Good. Fisk will be perfect.”

I watch as mom tilts her head in confusion. I shrug. I forget that mom doesn’t know what I know.

Mom shakes her head. “I’m not going to ask. Anyways, you dad is going to work with him and we are going to home. If Light is ok then we can just go straight to the house tomorrow instead of the hospital.”

I nodd and yawn. “Ok, well I’m tired.”

Mom nodds and lets me roll over. I close my eyes and feel the link between me and Light reconnect as I fall asleep.

I wake up hours later. The clock on the wall tells me that it’s around lunch time.

I sit up and look at Light who is smiling. “I’m almost better Shadow. I can’t feel my toes but I can move my feet. Mom said she’ll be back in an hour so we can go home. Dad came by while you were sleeping too. Daddy said that he’ll join us at home in a few days.”

I nodd and stretch. “I know. Are you feeling better?”

Light nodds. “Of course. I can move again. And mom will be happy.”

I sigh. “Yeah. Stuck looking like were 12 for a few years until our real age catches up.”

Light laughs. “It isn’t that bad. We both knew this was going to happen.”

I roll my eyes. “True but sometimes I don’t like knowing so much. Whether it’s a gift or not it isn’t fun.”

Light shakes her head. “Be glad that we have the intuition. Helps out when we don’t know what’s going on.”

I shake my head and smile. “True but just wait till mom asks. What are we going to say? That it just pops into our heads?”

Light rolls her eyes this time. “At least that’s the truth. But I want to keep our link to just us.”

I nodd. “Of course. Can you feel your toes yet?”

Light moves her feet and smiles. “I can now. I guess we will go home now.”

I nodd and lay back in the bed. “Yup.”
