2 - Game Plan

James decided to ask what her idea was.

“Well, this war won’t end till the vampire king is dead. We have the witches on our side. I think it’s time Amber and her new friend, Mark, join the vampires’ side. And they may just accidently kill the king and earn the wolves our place again.”

I frown. ‘And how am I supposed to be Amber if I’m pregnant?’

Sky smiles. “Welllll… I had word that the vampires have been playing with hybrids. You can be a new type and Mark can be your master. And James, you’ll be Mark.”

James frowned and thought for a minute. “Well if we do this then it’s going to be hard unless you have a more detailed identity.”

Sky waves her hand in the air. “I have to pass it over Daniel first and then see if the witch child will help.”

I nodd. ‘Ok well let us know once you find out if we’re doing it. The sooner the war is over the sooner we can live in peace.’

Sky agrees and leaves the house. James shakes his head. “I think that was Aurora and not Sky for the last part.”

‘Who?’ I ask in confusion.

James looks at me. “Her wolf. Sorry, I forgot you didn’t meet Sky’s wolf side. They are complete opposites.”

I lay my head back down. Somehow I end up dozing off.

When I wake up I’m in bed. I look around. I guess I’m alone.

I try to contact Blood-Fang. No response as always.

I sigh and hop off the bed. I find a note on the coffee table in the living room.

‘Whisper, you fell asleep so I move you. Daniel called and wanted to talk to me about something. I’ll be back whenever I finish with him. If you need anything just link to me or any nearby pack members.’

He had signed it as well. I sighed and looked around the living room. Being pregnant limited what I could do and now as a wolf my activities are extremely limited.

I can’t write, get on the computer, watch TV, or anything else. Bored, I lie on the couch again and look at the wall. The next few months are going to be hell.

A few hours later James came home. I was on the couch thinking about my past when he came in. I lifted my head and looked at James. He had an odd look on his face.

‘What did Daniel want?’

James frowned. “Did you know that Lane was Daniel’s son?”

My jaw dropped. ‘No, and we haven’t seen him. Was his killed during the fight?’

James nodded slowly. “Yes, and now Daniel doesn’t have a heir to take his place when he retires. He was speaking to me about maybe me taking his spot if he can’t figure someone else.”

I looked at him. ‘Well what did you say?’

James looked at me. “I had to say yes. I can’t force Daniel to pick a random wolf as his replacement. We do have the Alpha genes. Your father and my mother were both Alphas. So I said yes. But only as a last choice.”

I nodded. ‘Was there anything else?’

James sat down next to me. “Yes, he agreed to Sky’s plan. In two weeks we leave to carry it out. She is supposed to come and explain the details today.”

I nodded. ‘Well your gona have to pack everything for me. No clothes but my wallet and money would be good. We may need my credit card.’

James nodds. “I know. I’ll bring a backpack. I’ll leave the house keys with Daniel and we can take the pack’s SUV.”

I nodd and lay my head back down. Sky decided to show up then. James let her in and she sat in the chair while James sat next to me.

Sky looked at us. “Ok, Daniel approved. So in two weeks you both will be visitors of the Kings. Your story will be that you, James, are a great scientist that figured out how to make a hybrid that does not shift. You, Whisper, will be the project. I pretended to be a secretary and called to make an appointment.”

James nodded. “Ok.”

Sky continued. “So Whisper your name is Snow is time. James, you will be Mark Dodd. The witch kid is going to weave a few spells and make James look like someone else. Whisper, you will stay the same except fur color. Your fur is going to be magically dyed red and black. Won’t be permanent but only the witch can remove the look.”

James nodded. “I’ll write everything down so we won’t forget.”

Sky shook her head. “I’ll debrief you the day you leave. But anyways you are to meet with the King three days after you arrive. You both have to make sure to kill him. Once he is dead, his followers will be confused. At that time, Daniel will have his pack outside to attack. The morning before you meet the King, James, you will need to call Daniel to tell him so that they can attack and take down any extra vampires.”

James nodded slowly.

“And whatever you do, don’t give away who you really are. Not even to other Hybrids.”

We both nodd. Sky yawns and stretches. “So now that you understand, I’ll run everything by you again before you leave in two weeks. Till then, pack and relax.”

I huff and James agrees. I watch as Sky leaves then I speak my mind. ‘It’s great that we have a mission but until then, I am dying of boredom in this form. I can’t do anything.’

James laughed a little and flipped on the TV and asked what I wanted to watch. I choose TLC with its dramatic hoarders and cake boss.

So the next two weeks James and I are lazy around the house. I watch TV while he cooks and feeds me at every meal.

The day that were supposed to leave, we head over to the main house and meet with Sky and Daniel.
