~*A few days later*~

~*Sky POV*~

I stand in front of Tasha’s desk with a folder clamped to my chest.

The young girl looks at me worried. “Is everything ok?”

I nodd slowly and start to leave the room. Once I’m out of Tasha’s sight I rush to my room and lock the door behind me. I slam the folder onto my desk and pull out the photo.

Aurora growls in my mind. ‘It’s impossible. She is dead. She’s been dead for years. She can’t be alive. There is no way in any world for her to be alive.’

I swallow. “We are messing with something much bigger then a hybrid, Aurora.  But there is no way to find out what exactly. We need to warn Whisper and Celesta.”

Aurora snorts in my head. ‘Warn Whisper of her dead mother turned into a monster vampire? You really think that’s a good idea?’

I slam my hand on the desk. “We need to dammit! Whisper’s mother or not, those twins predicted this. Fay has to be the Vampire of Death from the Prophecy. That means that everything has been started. She has already taken the lives and blood of hundreds of vampires already. If she hasn’t already, the ‘One of Gold’ will meet its death soon.”

Aurora sighs. ‘Fine. I guess we better spread the word. But I would prefer to tell Celesta first.’

I nodd and grab the folder as I head to the throne room.

~*Whisper POV*~

I wake up to a high pitched scream. I jump out of bed and run to Light’s room. She’s laying in the bed holding a stuffed toy with tears streaming down her face. I sit on her bed and pull her into my arms.

She sobs into my shoulder just as Shadow appears next to me.

He frowns and touches his sister’s blonde hair. “It’s another nightmare. The Vampire Lady is coming.”

I frown and look at Shadow. “Vampire lady? Who is that?”

Shadow shrugs. “Some lady who wants to kill a lot of people. Death doesn’t like the vampires.”

My eyes widen. “Death? You mean like a god from Greek myth?”

Shadow shrugs. “I don’t know. Just Death.” Shadow yawns and starts to walk off. “Can you call me for breakfast Mom?”

I roll my eyes and look back at Light. She’s wiping her face on my sleeve as she stops crying.

When she’s done she looks at me. “I wish that Death wasn’t so mean. It’s not the vampire’s fault that they didn’t and can’t die.”

I frown. “What are you and your brother talking about? Is the Vampire Lady the one from the Prophecy?”

Light shrugs. “I don’t know Mommy. Can we have pancakes?”

I sigh and stand up. “Yes, right after I make a phone call and wake your dad.”

Light nodds and goes to her dresser to get dressed for the day.

I pass the bedroom to see that the bed is empty. I go down stairs to find James on the phone.

I put a hands on my hips and listen as he talks. “Yes, I’ll bring the kids over with us and talk about this.”

James pauses to listen. “No I didn’t know about her mother. How could I?” He pauses again. “Well we will talk about it when we get there. We need to feed the kids first then head over there to straighten this mess up.”

James hangs up and notices me. “What? I heard the phone ringing and I got up to answer it while you were with Light.”

I roll my eyes and go to the kitchen. “Well what is your news?”

James frowns and scratches the back of his head. “Let’s just say that your past has come to bite everyone one on the ass.”

I frown as I start to cool pancakes. “And it deals with someone’s mother? Does it have anything to deal with the Prophecy or Death or the ‘Vampire Lady?’”

James looks at me funny. “I didn’t mention any of that. And where does death come from?”

I shake my head. “Death as is a person or being that is a part of whatever the kids were talking about when I was up there. I think it deals with the Prophecy and Shadow said that Light’s nightmare was about the ‘Vampire Lady.’”

James sighs. “Well I don’t know about all that yet but the mother thing we need to talk about with Daniel and Sky over a conference call. And Daniel wants the kids there just in case.”

I sigh and start to make plates as the pancakes finish. I call the twins and they both sit at the table and start to eat as I set down the food.

I sigh as I look over both kids who appear to be 10 now. But if they were normal they would still only be pups.

Blood-Fang decides to pick up on my thoughts. ‘They are too young for this right now. At 6 weeks old this is unnatural by any standard. Whatever is making them grow is not in their blood. It’s impossible.’

I sigh and shake my head.

After everyone eats, we get into the car and head over to the main house. There we go up to the office where I make Shadow sit down in a car and Light crawls into my lap.

James brings in an extra chair for him and as we all take our seats, Daniel smiles at the kids. “Glad to have them here. I’m going to go ahead and get Sky on the phone.”

A few moments later we all are sitting and Sky is waiting on the speaker phone for me to explain about this morning before Sky reports what she has to say.

So I explain what the kids said and Sky sighs when I’m done. “They never fail to miss something important do they? Anyways my report is a lot more detailed. And Whisper, when I tell you this, you’re not going to want to believe me.”

I looked at the phone confused. “What is it?”

Sky takes a deep breath. “Combining what you just told me and what I know I think I have an explanation to it but… Your mother is alive but she is not who she used to be before death.”

I look at the phone thinking that Sky has to be crazy until she finishes explaining. “Your mother, Fay, has been brought back from dead by a being most us know as Death thanks to the twins. They gave us the missing puzzle piece we needed to answer the question of how.”

I and put my hands on my head and take a deep breath. “She can’t be alive. I watched her die myself.”

Sky huffed. “I have a picture of your mother taken a few days ago right before the vampire died by her hands. Trust me, Fay is alive. But I can’t really say breathing. And what the Prophecy means by ‘Vampire of Death’ must mean that she is working for Death as if it were a being.”

James stands up and takes my hands into his. “We will work this out. If we know that the Prophecy has began then we need to find the one of gold.”

Daniel rolls his eyes. “A Prophecy is not something you can change or stop. All we can do is sit back and do whatever we are meant to do. If you really think you’re supposed to find this next victim then you can try but that doesn’t mean you can save whoever it is.”

James looks at Daniel. “Well we at least can know beforehand.”

Sky coughs. “Well anyways, I’ll start looking. Keep your eyes and ears open and be careful.”

Sky hangs up and Daniel sighs. “Ya’ll go on home. I’ve got work to do. I’ll call if I find anything.”

After the dismissal, we all leave and head home.

I don’t talk about what happened and try to avoid the thoughts. James helps me with the twins as we go through our day.
