James ran out of the house when I told him. When he had comeback a few hours later he was crying and apologized dearly. He explained that he was confused and had run away because of it. He didn’t understand how I was pregnant. I explained everything to him and he understood.

He doesn’t blame me and says that if I wish to keep the pups I can. It would be our only chance at having kids.

Now it’s my first day in my wolf form for the pregnancy.

It was a week and a half ago was when I learned of my pups. The first appointment resulted in learning that I was going to have twins. I decided with James to keep the twins.

Daniel and Patty had the same reaction. Both were worried about me and baffled but have become excited for us.

I had shifted an hour ago in the middle of the bed room. James is downstairs cooking and doesn’t know that I shifted yet.

I nudge the door open with my nose and walk down stairs. I sit at the kitchen entrance and watch James cook. He hasn’t noticed me yet. So I just sit and wait.

He started to make two plates when I whine.

He drops the spoon full of eggs and looks at me. He frowns at first then smiles. “I’m guessing you didn’t choose to shift. Means your two months like Liz said.”

I nodd and link my mind to his. ‘And it also means more meat let everything else. You better call her and tell her. I’ll be like this for the next 6 months.’

James chuckles. “Well it gives us an idea of when you get pregnant so we can pin point it and find out how it happened.”

A bad feeling dropped over me as he said this. I looked at him and he realized what he said. His face goes blank. He runs to the calendar on the wall next to me.

I watch as he flips back two months. I watch in fear as his finger lands on the week I got pregnant. Shock and fear fills my body.

James looks down at me with a pained look. Suddenly my vision blurs and I feel dizzy. Before I could yelp, I see the floor rush toward me and my sight is gone.

I wake up on a bed. I lift my head and look around. I’m in the hospital. An IV is tapped to my leg. James sits in the chair asleep nearby.

In the back of my mind I hear Blood-Fang mumbling angrily.

I snap at her. ‘What?’

She sighs. ‘This is entirely my fault. All because my thirst forced us to drink the blood every time it was set there. I didn’t know it would bring on the heat. And the blackouts. I’m so sorry Whisper. It’s all my fault.’

She sobs before cutting my communication with her.

Memory returns to me. The calendar, fainting, and my fear.

I whimper and James is at my side and awake. “Are you ok? You passed out.”

I nodded and looked at him sadly. ‘Blood-Fang blames it on herself because of the thirst and the blackouts. I don’t know what to do.’

James looks at me sadly. “We need to find out what the twins are. From there we can decide what to do with them.”

I nodd and lay my head down. Doctor Liz enters then and looks at me. “I’m glad you are awake. I was able to do a DNA test with some blood that Ryan had from Shay. Your fears are correct. They are Shay’s offspring.”

I feel a wet spot appear under my eyes. James sighs and pets my head. “We need to know what the twins will be before we decide on keeping them. Not to forget the war going on. What are we going to do if we are needed?”
