~*A Week Later*~

~*Fay’s POV*~

I stand outside of my next victim’s window. I watch as she flips through papers on her desk. A photo flutters off but she doesn’t notice it. I see a woman in the photo that I recognize as myself.

Death whisper’s in my head. ‘She will be the next one. I know she isn’t the normal kills. But she and I have a very important appointment. She has a debt to pay.’

I breathe on the window and the glass fogs on the inside. I see the woman’s ear twitch as she works.

‘Yes, Death. But must I do it so soon? She does know of Whisper.’

Death growls. ‘You gave yourself up to do MY work! You will do as I say. She will die tonight! And don’t try to fight or else I will make sure to take your daughter and kill her before it is her time! All these others are past their due dates. And I will have order!’

I bow my head. ‘Yes Master.’

Using the darkness I move around to the nearest entrance to the building. I unlock the door and slip in and lock it behind me. The shadows shift and form to let me move to the woman’s room. At the door, I knock and shift the shadow’s to disguise my face as one of my past victims.

The door opens slowly to reveal an older lady in a trench coat that covers everything from the top of her shoulders to her bare ankles.

~*Sky’s POV*~

A knock at my door drags me from my work.

I answer the door to a young woman. Her eyes seem strangely familiar but her face is foreign. She smiles and I see the flash of fangs.

Aurora growls in my head.

I smile slightly. “Hello?”

The woman tilts her head. “I’m looking for someone.”

I frown. “I might be able to help you if you give me a name.”

The woman frowns suddenly. “I don’t know her name. May I sit down?”

Aurora growls in my head again. ‘She smells of death. I don’t like this.’

I swallow. “Come in and have a seat then. Do you know what she looks like?”

The woman sits on my bed and watches me as I shut my door then smiles. “Yes, she has long hair and has a moody wolf and wears a coat all the time. Would you happen to know her?”

Aurora barks and growls in my head again.

I growl out loud. “Who are you?”

Suddenly the woman’s face morphs into one I have learned to know very well. Fay Woods sits on my bed and smiles as she tilts her head. “I think you know who I am. Now what is your name?”

I growl and can feel Aurora pushing to get out. “Sky Woods. I’m a cousin of Wane. I’ve been watching over your daughter Whisper. Did you know you’re a grandma?”

Something flashes through Fay’s eyes before she smiles wider. “So you’re in the family too? How surprising that we each have a part to play. Too bad that someone such as you have a debt to pay to my master.”

Fay suddenly moves and blocks the only exit. Aurora growls even louder and it slips through my teeth. “Oh yes Death. I wonder who I killed to make me owe him. Or if I should’ve died but lived.”

Fay laughs. “Oh you killed someone who was supposed to do many services to Death. Shay was his name. He was paving the way for Death with his creations. But now I have to serve. But you still owe Death your life. So I am taking payments.”
