24 - Flame Deal

~*Whisper’s POV*~

Hours after the twins came back from the castle we sit at a hospital. Shadow and Light both are in a room being examined as a werewolf doctor talks to us.

James finishes explaining what we did know and said that they would have to ask Shadow for more information.

The doctor storms off. I sigh and shake my head. “They act like the twins are normal kids. When I told the lady that they are only a few months she looked at me like I’m crazy. It would be easier if we were at home but it’s too far of a drive.”

James nodds. “I already called Daniel and explained as well. He said that we need to figure something out for a new leader before everything gets out of hand.”

I sigh and shake my head. “Besides us or Daniel, I have no clue.”

A doctor appears and clears his throat. “Your children are able to be seen. I’ll explain once we are in the room.”

James takes my hand and we head to the kids’ room.

When we enter the room the first thing I notice is the bruises covering Shadow’s neck and shoulder. I run over and look at them in surprise.

My son looks at me and smiles. “I’m ok Mom.”

I shake my head and look at Light. She’s laying in bed staring at the ceiling.

The doctor flashes a light into her eyes for a minute then sighs. “Light is paralyzed completely. She can only breathe. She can’t move at all. I do believe that it is only temporary though. As for Shadow, he is severally bruised and has a few cracked ribs but otherwise he will be fine. Both kids have healed a lot since they came in and I hope that they will be fine in a few hours or a day or two.”

I nodd. “Thank you. Do they need to stay here?”

The doctor frowned. “Light will have to remain here until she is able to move if she is not better in the next two days we will have her moved to the hospital near your home but until she is back to normal there is no guarantee that she will be able to go home. With her current state, it is a miracle she is able to breathe on her own. It would be safe to keep her in a hospital.”

James shook his head. “Well we will be here for a few days and then we will go home once we get everything settled down again.”

Shadow turns his head and sighs. “Light and I will be fine. I want to stay here with her till she is better. But you need to go back to the castle.”

I nodd and look at James who has his eye closed. “I guess we will come back in a few hours.”

Shadow nodded and pointed at the door. “Go. We will be ok.”

We both nodd and I follow James out of the hospital.

Once outside we load in to the car and drive back to the castle.

Noone is in sight as we drive up. The sun greets us as it raises a few inches over the building.

I get out of the car and stand and look at the abandoned building.

~*Fisk’s POV*~

Early in the morning I walk to the castle. As I near it the sun starts to shine over the massive walls of my destination.

I notice a young woman standing next to a car walking the sun rise. A man gets out of the car and goes to her side.

I watch as the man pulls the woman into a hug.

I cough suddenly and the couple pulls apart and looks at me.

I frown and shrug my shoulders. “I’m sorry to intrude.”
