5 - War's End

It’s Thursday now. James made us stay in the room yesterday after I ended up puking again. He is worried about me and the pups.

But today we explore the castle again with Celesta guiding us. The little girl is silent except to explain a room as we pass it.

We stop in front of a large set of doors guarded by a wolf and a vampire. Celesta points at each then the door. “This in the throne room and as you can see it is heavily guarded. You both will meet the king here tomorrow for the presentation of Snow.”

James nodded. “Good, good. And you’ll bring us here in the morning so that we won’t get lost again?”

Celesta looked up and nodded. “Of course. Master asked for me to be your guide therefore I will guide you. Now let’s move on.”

Both guards watch us as we leave. Once were a few hallways away Celesta talks. “Were far enough from ears that they won’t hear us. Tomorrow I will be in the throne room with you guys. But I will have to be hidden till you make your move. Then I will help with the kill. Make sure your pack is here by sun rise or else guards will attack us.”

James nodds. “The Alpha is supposed to be on his way now. I’ll call later to give him the final message. Once he is in the area, I’ll be able to link to him for the final attack.”

Celesta nodds. “Good, now it’s nearly dinner and you both haven’t eaten since before we started the tour this morning. I’ll take you to the room and then you guys relax. I’ll wake you first thing tomorrow.”

We agree and Celesta started to lead us to our room. Once there she just disappears without a word.

James makes sure to lock the door as we enter. I watch as he gets the cell phone and calls Daniel.

“Dodd here, where are you?”

I hear Daniel’s faint voice on the other part of the line. “Nearing the border. We should be in sight soon.”

James sighs. “You need to be in ink and attack distance by day light. I’ll give the signal of course. We have a friend here helping us. But we have to offer her protection as a repayment. Make sure no one attacks any children. No matter what.”

Daniel pauses. “Oh, a child? Why would we attack a child?”

James sits down on the bed and looks at me. “There are vampire children here. We must not harm them because one is helping us.”

Daniel sighs. “Ok, I’ll pass the message. I’ll link when were close enough.”

James nodded. “Ok, good luck.”

Daniel hung up then. I watch as James leaned back on the bed and sighed.

That night we ordered food and ate. Then James took a shower and I crawled onto the bed and fell asleep.

The nest morning I woke up to a knock on the door. Startled, I growl at the door. But I calm down a moment later.

James gets up and opened the door. Celesta stands there with a smile. “Get dress Doctor. We have a meeting with the king. I’ll wait out here.”

James nodd and shuts the door. A few moments later we are on our way to the throne room. The look on James face gives away that he is linked to Daniel.

I nudge him and he focuses on me. ‘Cut the link, your face is giving it away.’

James nodds and looks at our surroundings. We stop in front of the throne room doors. A wolf sniffs us both then the vampire opens the doors for us. Celesta stays in the hall as we walk forward.
