I woke up to see an illuminate bright light, shining above me. I squinted, and groaned trying to sit up. I was back in a familiar office. Phoenix hovered over me. "She's awake!!!" He shouted.
Miles hastily came into the room, and glanced at me. An expression of relief was on his face. "How do you feel?" He asked.
I clenched my fists a few times, rubbing my head. "I feel...good actually."
Phoenix hugged me when I sat up. "Oh my god, thank god you're okay." Miles stood aside.
"Did I...get hit with something?" I felt the back of my head. I cringed at the sore feeling I got from mistakenly touching the sore spot too hard.
Miles grimaced. "If it wasn't for my negligence you wouldn't have gotten hit..."
"If it wasn't for my taking that hit, you'd probably be dead." I smiled shyly.
Miles cheeks turned slightly red, as he scowled once more at himself for his complacent attitude. "My apologies, Miss Moore." He began. I couldn't see why he was apologizing like an idiot.
"Don't apologize..." I said. "I didn't want you to get hit, that's why I blocked the blow from you."
"You shouldn't have." Edgeworth hissed.
"And why shouldn't I have?" I questioned.
"It makes me feel like I've failed at being a man." He replied.
My eyes glistened at his words. "Edgeworth I..."
"I need some alone time." Mr. Edgeworth went on his way out of our sight. Once he left, Phoenix turned to me. "Boy do I got some things to tell you."
I arched an eyebrow at Phoenix's manner. "Right now?"
"You're gonna want to hear this. Phoenix sat on the ground with his legs stretched out, and rested his arms over his stomach. "But first, let me tell you what happened when I arrived."
My heart pounced. "W-what happened?"
"Nothing of the ordinary sort. When I arrived, the door was open. I walked in, seeing that the place was a mess! And then...I heard a struggle, like as if there were two people wrestling one another. I looked into his bedroom, seeing that Edgeworth was punching some guy that was in all pink."
The guy that I thought of befuddled me. "You mean the bellboy?!?!" I panicked.
Phoenix stared at me. "What? No. He wouldn't be able to take Miles on..." Phoenix rested his arms behind his head. "This guy was more buff...yeah. And I saw you lying on the ground by him which had me confused."
"What did you do?" I spoke stern.
"What I did?" Phoenix repeated. "I quickly pulled you out of harm's way so that they wouldn't crush you."
For some reason hearing that made me chuckle.
"I then proceeded to try and pry them away from each other, which was pretty hard to do. They had a tight grip on each other." Phoenix smiled. "The cops then came on time, to stop the two from trying to kill one another and filed a report for assault from that pink dude."
I sat up. "If that guy isn't the bellboy then who was he?" I asked.
"You got me." Phoenix shrugged. "Although...he does look like someone I had been in a case with...maybe a couple years ago, I can't recall."
"Oh, then that can't be good."
"I don't think any assault is good." Phoenix commented.
"I'm talking about the fact that you may actually recognize that guy."
