The trial was about to begin. I exhaled, anxious of what's to come.
Just remember to stay calm...and restate your testimony... Phoenix told me.
All I had done was nod at that moment. When they called me up to the stand to testify, I felt by heart pound so hard, to the point that it was louder than the murmuring that continued through the court.
"Testify to the court." The Judge requested.
I sighed heavily, shaking. "Okay..."
I came to visit Edgeworth on the day of the crime. The bellboy greeted me, and told me that he had stepped out, and would return in half an hour. He invited me in, until he returned home. Edgeworth had later went to shower, and some person came into the apartment...I can't remember everything the person did, but all I know for sure, is that he was going to kill Mr. Edgeworth. By the time we were locked in his room, I didn't have the chance to think, I flew in front of Miles and took the hit, and that's all I remember.
Phoenix carefully and tactfully considered my testimony. After a long day of testifying and accusations, Phoenix took me home in a taxi, being that he didn't bring his car to the trial, for some odd reason. Upon arriving in his apartment I was extremely exhausted.
Phoenix's apartment was a rather dull color. The walls were a light apricot, and the couches were light baby blue. There was a picture that hung on one of the eight walls of the living room, which lightened the mood a little. An antic table, made from refurbished wood, was settled in the middle of the room, with a match of certain chairs to fit the occasion.
He then mentioned what the problem was. "I sort of lost my privilege of driving at the moment." Phoenix explained.
"What do you mean?" I arched an eyebrow.
Phoenix hesitantly laughed, trying hard to spread a contagious feeling of laughter. But I just glared at him. He sighs, feeling humiliation. "I sort of wasn't paying attention to the road, and ran a red light...and one of those police cameras took a pic of my license plate... if it wasn't for me being a famous lawyer, I'd probably have my license taken away from me for good."
"Ain't that the truth?" I scoffed.
Phoenix rolled his eyes. "Hey man, if I ever lose my driving license, just know that I'd never be able to take you anywhere by my curtesy again." I then rolled my eyes too, making my way to the table. Phoenix went to brew up some coffee. I waited patiently as Phoenix passed me a mug and I held it firmly in my hand.
"You like your coffee with half n' half?" He asked.
I nodded happily. "Yes sir!"
The smell of coffee filled the air. "Y'know, Edgeworth isn't really taking this trial seriously."
"Really?" I asked amused.
Phoenix nodded, taking the kettle to our mugs and poured the hot liquid into each. "Didn't you notice?" Phoenix asked befuddled. "He was smirking throughout the trial, and it seemed as though he was trying to have the judge lecture him." He sighed, sitting down in his chair. "I'm starting to believe that he was serious about quitting being a prosecutor."
