Frantically, I screamed. "NICK!!!"
Phoenix flew into the kitchen in a second. "What is it?!"
"Something happened to Miles?!" I stared down in horror.
"Huh?!" Nick ran over, seeing the prosecutor lying in my lap, unconscious. "What the—HEY!!!" Nick pulls Miles' body off of me, sitting him up straight. At first glance, it seemed as though Miles was dead.
"He's not...dead, is he?" I breathed heavily, almost reluctant on touching his body.
Nick checked his heartbeat. "No, he's alive."
I sighed in relief. But I was still concerned. "What the heck happened to him?! He just suddenly passed out on me!"
"Stress?!" Nick hypothesized.
"What's going on?!" Kay came running in, in a hurry.
"Miles just suddenly passed out on Rachael." Nick got ready to make a phone call.
"W-What are you doing?" I asked worriedly.
"I'm calling an ambulance?" Nick says.
"Wait!" Kay alerted us. "Let me see something!"
"Let me just call the ambul—"
"I said WAIT, okay?!" Kay yanked down Nick's hand.
As if on que, Kay's expression became serious. "Let me check something..." The girl browsed Miles' body, as though she was checking for any signs of an issue. "I need to take his off shirt." She says convincingly.
"W-Why?" Nick and I asked.
"A few years ago, when I was still Miles' assistant, he had a similar issue of suddenly passing out. I had a cure on me at that time, which helped heal him, but I want to be sure that it's the same issue, just in case—since I have some on me now."
"Y-You have some on you now...?" I ask skeptically.
"I always carry them on me, in fact." Kay huffs. "Alright, shirt off."
Glancing at Nick, he shrugged, backing off.
I sighed.
Nick pulled Miles' chair back, as I began to strip off Miles' suit jacket then his shirt.
My heart pumped, and my eyes began to sweat.
I-I'm going to see his chest! I'm not a pervert, I swear!
One by one, I unbuttoned his shirt.
"Can you hurry up?! This is a matter of life or death!" Kay hissed.
"Okay!" I cried. I hurriedly unbuttoned his white shirt, and pulled Miles' shirt down his shoulders a bit.
I was taken aback by his impressively well-built and masculine structure.
I had to bite my tongue and cover my mouth, to suppress the thoughts that clouded my mind.
I have to control myself! It's not like it's the first time I've seen his chest, but damn, every time I see it, it's more well-built than before!
Kay paused for a moment, staring at Miles.
Double-taking, I slapped her arm. "Hey! Aren't you supposed to be doing something?!"
"U-Uh, yeah!" Kay yelps.
The girl gets into a spiritual stance, putting on hand on Miles' heart. She inhaled or a moment, then released the carbon dioxide. After, she checked all his pulses. "He isn't dead, that's for sure. But he is having irregular heartbeats."
