Miles and I went for a stroll around the Paris Pier. It was a beautiful area where the streets were clean and looked fresh and new, as the sidewalk was made from stones that gave an English feeling. Across the street was where the stoned sidewalk was partnered with a body of water, blocked off by black gates to protect people from falling in. As beautiful as it was, I thought of falling into it at some point.
There was a bridge that allowed you to cross over to the other side, and even ride boats across the waters. Beautiful groups of white fluffy birds were relaxing and swimming through the water, despite what time it was. It was pretty late, but that didn't excuse Miles and I from enjoying ourselves.
Hand in hand, we laughed, and visited a few shops to see what they had. It finally came to a point where we were soon going to pass an ice cream shop.
"Since we're going to dinner later on, would you like something light?"
"Sure." I smiled, hugging Miles' arm.
"Would ice cream be okay?"
"Yep! I don't mind ice cream."
Going inside, we waited on line for a bit.
"Who's that handsome man...?"
"...he looks familiar."
I tried my hardest to ignore the obvious gossip that was going on around us.
Hopefully he isn't paying attention to it...
I snuck a glance at his face, seeing as he was focused on the ice cream menu.
...so innocent. I blushed.
Miles suddenly looked at me. "What flavor would you like?"
"O-Oh!" My eyes averted to the menu. "Vanilla is my favorite."
"Alright, I'll get that for you."
We were next in line, so we stepped up to the cashier.
"Aren't you getting anything for yourself?" I asked him.
"N-No...I'll be fine. I'm not much of a sweet tooth, anyways."
"What?!" I gasped. "Then, let me pay for it! I'm sorry!"
"What?" Miles arched an eyebrow. "It's fine. I can pay for it."
Putting on a pout face, I whimpered. "But...you're not going to enjoy it with me..."
"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." Miles insisted, giving the cashier his card. "One vanilla cone, please."
Hugging Miles' arm, I smiled. "Can it be large, please?"
Miles glanced at me. "One large vanilla cone, please."
"Oh! And sprinkles, please!"
"One large vanilla cone with sprinkles, please."
"Alright, coming right up!" The boy said.
Looking at Miles, he seemed to be a bit nervous.
I guess he's still not used to going on dates like these, huh?
When the cone was received, Miles beamed, handing it to me.
"Thanks, dear." I grinned ear to ear.
"You're welcome."
Leaving the shop, I was amazed by the size of this cone. "Wow...it's so big!"
Miles glanced at the cone, scrutinizing it. "It is pretty big. Are you sure you can handle it?"
