"So, are you going to call Nick back?"

"Yeah, I am." I run my hand through my thick hair, surfing through my contacts.

Miles got up, leaving the living room.

I watched him leave, but didn't say anything, as Nick was already answering.

"Rachael?"

"Hey, Nick." I say happily.

"Where are you? And why do you sound so jolly?"

"I'm at Miles' place."

"Oh! Say no more!"

I stared into space, really mortified by what just happened.

Pulling my phone from my ear to my face, I looked at the screen.

"...did this guy just hang up on me?"

I redialed Nick's phone number, which went right to voicemail after four rings.

"This guy is literally ignoring my calls!"

"Something wrong?" Miles says, coming back with a sheet in his hands.

I stood up, staring hysterically at the prosecutor. "Nick literally hanged up on me!"

"Really, now? That doesn't sound like him." Miles commented. "Why did he do that?"

"All I said was that, I was at your apartment, and this guy says, 'Oh! Say no more!', and then he hangs up! And I tried recalling him, but now he's rejecting my calls!"

Miles sighs, finishing folding a sheet. "That attorney is something else, I tell you..."

"You're telling me? I could have been joking about being at your apartment—THIS GUY EVEN BLOCKED MY TEXTS!" I fell onto the floor in defeat. "It's official...if I ever prank this guy...he'll leave me to die...by accident."

"Well, it can't be helped now." Miles chuckles, pulling me to my feet. "You're safe here with me."

"Oh, I had better be safe!" I pouted. "If anything happens, Miles, I'm holding you accountable!"

"Don't worry. If anything happens, I'll be there. Unless, you're scared."

"I-I'm not scared!" I gasped.

"If you are, just let me know, and I'll come sleep with you."

"No way!"

"I'll sleep on the floor."

"Okay, that sounds better."

"Did you really think that I'd consider doing that?"

"Doing what?" I arch an eyebrow curiously.

Miles held his mouth and blushed, walking back into his room. "N-Never mind."

Still confused, I followed Miles into his room. Peeking in, my eyes glistened with awe. "Oh, your room is also different from last time!"

"Oh, you remember?" Miles glances back at me.

"Yeah!" I reply, coming in. "Your bed was over here, and your dressers were over here, and here."

"What a keen memory you have." Miles chuckles.

I blushed, rubbing the back of my head. "Heheh...not really."

"Well," Miles pats the bed. "I made sure that the bellboy changed the sheets. Your free to jump in."

"Aww, Miles, you didn't have to do that." I smiled. "I'm not that type of person."
