"Hey, Miles." I waved.
Miles stared innocently. "You're here early."
Miles invited me in. Following, I shut the door behind. "Yeah..." I dragged. "...something went down at Nick's place."
Miles stopped, looking back. "What?" He deadpans. "What happened?"
"Well," Placing my shoes by the door, I scratched the back of my head. "To make the long story short, Nick kissed Maya."
"He what."
"Heee...kissssed...Maaayaaa." I dragged.
Miles grimaced, glancing away. "...that fool."
"Huh?" I arched my eyebrow at his strange response.
"Nick doesn't like her, romantically. How can he do such a dense act...?"
Shaking my head, I did a double-take. "Hold on—what do you mean, 'dense'? It's obvious that Nick likes her!"
"No, Rachael." Miles says sternly. "I know how Nick is. He isn't easily attracted to women; the same with me."
"What are you trying to imply?" I snorted. "That you'd go after a man, before a good-looking girl?"
Miles blushed profusely. "I most definitely wasn't implying that."
Chuckling, I wigged my eyebrows. "Okay."
"But in all seriousness, Rachael, what was going on, when I left?"
"Maya and Nick got into this nasty argument, subsequent to how Nick treated her earlier, when you drove us home."
"Seriously..." Miles pinched the bridge of his nose. "Those two argue over the stupidest things...I should have known."
"Aww," Hugging Miles, I walked my index and middle finger to his nose, and poked it. "Don't be too hard on them, Miles."
Miles sighed, taking off his glasses. "It's a shame how Mr. Wright scolds me about my love interests and me pushing myself to confess to you, and yet here he is, being a dense man, freely kissing the girl in a tense situation."
"Well..." I hugged him tighter. "It seemed to have worked.
"What do you mean?" Miles queried, rubbing my head.
"Maya was so speechless, she just asked Nick to kiss her again."
"W...What?"
"Mhm, and she took his face, and kissed him." I say, pointing at my lips.
"What a strange couple..." Miles muttered.
"But there's another problem, Miles!"
"And what's that?"
"Now that I've seen what they were doing—from their fight, to the kissing—I feel like it'd be wrong for me to just go back to Nick's apartment, to pick out an outfit for tonight."
"Oh...that is indeed an issue."
"And, who knows what the heck they're up to, at this point? What if I were to go back home, and find them kissing?" I gasped horrifically. "Or worse?!"
"Or worse, what?"
My cheeks reddened. "N-Nothing..." I whispered.
Miles ran his hand through his hair. "I guess, I'm going to have to take you back to help you choose an outfit."
"You're going to help me choose...?" I asked curiously.
Miles stammered. "I-I mean, help you see, which outfit would suit you for tonight."
