A few days before the case, Kay Faraday had gone to a café by herself, since she didn't have anyone to go with. Ordering a cup of Oolong Tea, she sits by the window and pouts.

Sad, she pondered about her encounter with Miles after leaving him for three years.

He treated me as if we hardly knew each other so well...

Sighing to herself, she stirred her tea.

A handsome male, then took notice of her, and came by.

"Mind if I sit here?"

"Why?" Kay asks suspiciously.

"I noticed you were sad, so I thought I'd just be neighborly and talk to you."

"Oh." She lowered her guard, exhaling. "Yeah...I'm in a rough situation, right now."

Sitting down, the male smiles. "Go on."

"Well..." Kay rubbed her arm awkwardly. "...this guy that I used to work with, well..."

"Go on..."

Wait...why am I about to open up to this guy...? Kay thought. "Maybe it's best if I don't say...it's actually embarrassing, when I think about it."

"It doesn't hurt to tell a stranger, does it?" The male smiles. "Besides, it doesn't bother me if a cute girl vents her little heart out."

Kay blushed, glancing quickly at the table, instead of his eyes. So handsome...

"Well," Kay cleared her throat. "I've been close with a prosecutor for a long time, and...I sort of betrayed him."

"You did?"

"Yeah." Kay nods. "I decided to do some things, that I knew would get me in trouble. But I did what I have done, because of my dad's name..."

"Your dad?"

"Yeah...someone framed him. And I swore an oath to make sure that it's me who claims that title for him. And nobody else. But... after seeing my friend after some years...he treated me so coldly... we used to be so close..." Kay sighs, holding herself. "Best friends, and partners in court. Now he has a new lady friend, so I guess he's just trying to look cool in front of her." The girl pouts, flicking her straw.

"Interesting..." The male holds his chin. "Did you confront him about the matter?"

"No, but I was going to!" Kay exclaimed. "I hate when people want to act fake in front of their friends! Miles knew me longer than he knew that woman, but yet he acts as though I'm just his next-door neighbor, who harasses him!"

"Miles?"

Kay stammered in her words. "U-Uh, yeah...that's his name."

"Miles..." The male tapped his chin. "...I know a Miles."

"Do you?" Kay arched an eyebrow.

"Yes, indeed. And now that you're mentioning it, you did say prosecutor, am I right?"

"Yes, I did." Kay replied suspiciously.

"You aren't happening to talk about Miles Edgeworth, are you?"

Kay gasped, feeling shivers in her spine. "How do you know who he is?" Kay readied her arm as she reached for a weapon in her side pocket.

"Calm down!" The man cried. "He's very famous here, so of course, anyone would know him!"

"Oh..." Kay lowered her hand. "...that is true."

The male watched carefully as her hand withdrew from her waist.
