I couldn't help but mutter, "I'm getting late, I'm getting..." because just like every other day, I found myself running behind schedule. But today was different. I had to make it on time because of the important meeting.

I dashed out of the house and hurried towards my car, racing against the clock. Luckily, there was no traffic. I parked my car in the office lot and checked my watch. 9:59 A.M. I felt a glimmer of happiness as I entered the office, determined to make it just in time for the meeting.

As I switched on my laptop in the boardroom, the door swung open, revealing Mason.

"Hey," he greeted me.

"Hey," I replied, stealing a quick glance at him before focusing on my task once again.

"I really hope everything goes well today. This meeting could be a game-changer for us," Mason mused to himself.

Maybe I was wrong, but I sensed a hint of nervousness in Mason's voice. However, with him, you can never truly tell. He's a master at concealing his feelings.

"Well, I hope so too that..." I trailed off as the door swung open once more.

This time, it was Mason's assistant, Stella.

"Excuse me, sir. The guests have arrived. Should I bring them in?" Stella inquired, to which Mason simply nodded.

A few moments later, four men entered the room. The first one appeared slightly older. 'He must be the boss,' I thought to myself.

Mason approached the men, greeting the older gentleman first and then the rest.

"Bienvenidas Señores (Welcome, gentlemen)," Mason greeted them, accompanied by a subtle smile.

Following his lead, I extended my greetings as well.

We all settled into our seats and delved into the project discussion.

While Zack, one of our teammates, was delivering the presentation, I found myself studying the expressions of our guests intently. I caught a few "buenos," and it brought a sense of satisfaction, indicating their approval of Zack's words.

Once Zack concluded his presentation, Mason rose from his seat, and Zack returned to his spot. I gave Zack a thumbs up, assuring him that he did a fantastic job. He returned the gesture with a grateful smile.

Mason proceeded to discuss a few more points with the guests. I stood by his side, attentively listening to their conversation and occasionally translating their words for Mason.

Finally, the guests stood up, and the older gentleman shook hands with Mason. He expressed, "Nos gusta su presentación mucho. Damos cuenta que ha trabajado mucho con su equipo. Empieza a trabajar por este proyecto y podrémos discutir pocos detalles por el móvil."

I translated it for Mason, summarizing that "they liked our presentation and want us to begin working on the project. They'll discuss a few details over the phone."

Mason smiled and thanked them, saying, "Muchas gracias señores, y sí, Señor Juan, vamos a hablar por el móvil pronto. (Thank you, gentlemen and yes, Sir Juan, we will talk over the phone soon.)"

Juan, the leader of the group, replied, "De nada. Adiós ahora tenemos que ir, pero ¡hasta luego!" (Welcome. Goodbye, now we have to leave, but see you soon.) And with that, they departed.

Mason still wore a broad smile. "Ah... Finally, I'm feeling so relieved. Great job, everyone," he praised us. We exchanged smiles, basking in his appreciation.

Leaving the boardroom, we returned to our respective workstations with happy faces. It feels incredible when your boss acknowledges your efforts. It genuinely makes you enjoy working for the company.
