Chapter 26

"For the 10th time Mason Anderson I am fine. "
Since morning Mason has been calling me and asking about my health.
"Then come to office." He casually said.
"I am on sick leave, Sir. I can't come to the office."
"Really? You just said you are fine, Edwards."
"Well not that fine, Anderson."
He did not say anything for a minute then and my mind started to make 100 possible things that he could be thinking of.
"Are you lying to me or hiding something from me? His question made me silent.
"Mason, I.."
"Hey, don't say anything. I am not doubting you. It's just that this is the first time since we got into this relationship that you are not here in the office with me. That's all."
"Mason, we will meet tomorrow."
I am feeling so bad right now. I wish I could be there with him.
"Yeah, you have to meet me tomorrow no matter what."
"Why? What is tomorrow? Something special? I suppressed my laugh.
"Naah, just want to see you that's it."
"Can I come to your place right now?" He askes hopefully but I have to crush them or else Shanaya and Alice will crush me.
"Nops. You can't. Mom is at home and I have not told her about us yet."
"Well, can't your Boss come and see you?"
"Really? Where do you find such concerned Bosses, Mason?"
"I am. I want my employees to be just fine. So that they would work efficiently."
"Sure Thing." He laughed.
I heard someone calling him.
"I will talk to you later. Red Head is here. Take care."
"You too. Bye."
Red Head is our code word for my Manager cause she stay mad and angry all the time especially at me. I don't know what I have done to her to make her hate me so much.
Besides this She has now colored her hair red as well. So we could not think of any other better name for her than this.
I was getting bored so I decided to go for some shopping.
I wore a casual top, blue denim shots and white sneakers. I only applied little gloss and left the home with my wallet and keys. Mom is not going to be at home till 6 P.M and it's only 4 P.M right now.
I parked my car in the parking lot and went to the mall.
Shopping is like therapy to me. It instantly lifts up my mood. Though I wish Shanaya was here right now.
She has always been my shopping partner.
I started looking around. There were so many things that I was liking but obviously I can't buy everything.
I took some of the clothes in my hand and went to try them.
After trying them on I decided to buy two tops and one shorts. As I was leaving a black dress caught my eye. I went to try it on immediately. It was perfect. This is what I'm going to wear tomorrow.
I can't believe that I am this much excited. I just hope that everything goes as planned.
I wasn't hungry so I only bought a coffee from Starbucks and went home.
"Hey Mom, you are back." I kissed her on the cheek.
"I see. You went for the shopping."
"Yeah." I showed her all the clothes.
"Wow. This dress is pretty." Mom said as she looked at the black dress.
I smiled.
"But why did you buy it?" She gave me a questionable look.
"Just like that." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Elena Edwards are you hiding something from me?"
"Umm. No?"
She raised her eyebrow and folded her arms.
"Who is the guys? What's his name?"
"Mom."
"What? I'm your mother. Tell me."
"Mason. Mason Anderson." I paused and looked at Mom.
"Mason? As in your boss?"
I nodded.
"Elena, last time I remember you two hated each other."
"I know but things change and so does my feelings for Mason." I then told her everything. Our whole story.
After I stopped talking my Mom still didn't say anything.
"Mom?"
"Aww my baby girl has a boyfriend. I'm so happy for you." She hugged me.
"You two are completing a month tomorrow. That's great."
I was relieved after seeing her expression.
"Yeah. Unbelievable, right?"
My phone started to ring. It was Mason, again.
"Your boyfriend is calling."
"Mom, please."
She laughed. I talked to him for a while just about random stuff and also informed him about me taking a leave a tomorrow as well.
"That's it. I do not care. I'm coming to your place right now." This was his reaction.
"No. Don't come here. There is no need of it."
"Then why are you not coming tomorrow as well?"
I was silent. I don't know what to say to him. I took a deep breath.
"You will get to know."
"What?"
"Have patience. Tomorrow you will understand."
"But, why?"
"Ok. Bye. I gotta go now."
"Dude, don't hang up on me like that." "Ha ha bye!" And I disconnected the phone.
Soon enough the night came. I do not know how day ends so early.
Alice and Shanaya gave me a big lecture about tomorrow's surprise and lot of stupid suggesstions. Okay, I lied some of them were good too but whatever.
It was around 2:00 A.M.
I decided to send him my first message. I'm pretty sure he is asleep now.
'Hey Love, I hope you have a great day today, even though you are not with your bae.
Sorry for this bad rhyme but could not think of any other word which goes with today but I hope it will bring a smile on your face.
Morning by the way. ❤'
I messaged him this and went to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be fun.
