Chapter 9

I woke up at 7 A.M and started getting ready for the office. I looked on the bed and Shanaya was asleep. Lucky huh. Wish i could go back to sleep too but i can't because she is on a holiday, i'm not.
I went downstairs, greeted Mom and Dad. After the breakfast i left for the office.
Weather was nice today so i let the windows down, enjoying the breeze and played some soft music.
Thankfully i didn't get any traffic today and reached office easily.
"Hey lady" i greeted Alice and hugged her.
She hugged me back "Hey love"
"So what's up?" I asked her.
"I have to search some new designs of clothes and then have to make a presentation."
"Okay. Mason is not in the office yet?"
"Why? You missing him?" She smiled her evil smile.
"Malvada." I smiled sweetly at her.
"What?" She asked confused.
"Oh nothing love." I laughed and walked away.
"You and your Spanish." She huffed.
I didn't say anything to her and went to my seat. I had to translate few mails today and have to make some calls to the clients.
Mason's office was adjacent to mine. The curtains were not down so i could easily look inside. He is not here yet.
I went back to my work.
After a while i heard people greeting someone. I turned my head and yup he is here. Perks of being a boss , I thought.
"Morning" I greeted him when he was in front of my cubicle. He smiled and went inside his office. Only a smile, nothing else, no retort. Strange. I looked in his office he was on the phone, the peon came inside, set a cup of coffee on his table and pulled the curtains down.
I sighed and started doing the translation.
At lunch time Alice came to my table. "Not a single text yesterday. Are you trying to get rid off me?" She tried to act serious but failed miserably. Alice is a worst liar. She starts laughing automatically whenever she is lying.
"Sad but yes." I replied.
"Oh really. Is there someone else?"
"Umm what can i say now."
"Omg who? You made a boyfriend? Don't tell me because you like Ma.."
I covered her mouth with my hand and hissed at her "Are you mad? Look where you are before saying something."
"Then who is he?"
"Idiot it's Shanaya only. She came home."
"Oh Shanaya Wow. I wanna meet her. It's been so long." Alice doesn't have a sibling. So as much she is close to me, she is closed to my family too.
"Sure. You are always invited at my place.
"I know right. So what did she get you this time?"
I laughed "She got me this beautiful royal blue dress similar to. " and her phone started ringing. She smiled looking at it and i didn't have to ask who is on the phone. She excused herself.
Jake. Jake and Alice are together since college. They did not accept it at first but later they finally realised that they can't stay away from one another and got into a relationship. They are sweet and most importantly happy together.
The lunch ended and i started making the calls. My office's phone rang. I picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Come to my office." It was Mason, obviously.
I walked towards his office and knocked on the door.
"Come in"
"Yes?"
"Elena i'm sending you a mail. It's urgent so drop everything else and translate it immediately."
"Okay." I said and was turning around when he called again.
"Yeah?"
"Next week we have to go to Mexico for five days." He said.
"We? Who all are going?"
"You and I. Problem? " He raised his eyebrows.
"Umm okay."
"Good. I have sent you the mail."
"Okay." I said and came back to my office.
I checked my mails and started to translate the mail and after completing it i sent it to him.
I closed my eyes.
Me and Mason. Together for five days that too in Mexico.
Wow. Don't know what's gonna happen.
