I kept on turning from side to side in the bed but could not sleep. My mind could not rest. I finally sat up. I reached for some water but the jug was empty so I went downstairs to get some.

I went to the kitchen. Through the window I saw Mason standing by the bench in the garden area.

I looked at the clock, it was 2:00 A.M. I filled two glasses of water and went to the garden.
Mason did not notice me until I offered him the glass of water.

"Thanks." He said in a soft voice.

I stood beside him for a few seconds then went to sit on the swing.

The sky looked beautiful today that it made me forget all the events that took place a few hours ago.

"May I?" Mason was standing by the swing. I nodded and he sat beside me.

We were quite but the silence was comforting.

"Do you like Nate?" Mason asked me out of nowhere.

"What?" I immediately looked at him but he was looking away.

"Mason?"

"Do you?" He asked again without looking at me.

"It's none of your concern, I guess." I said. I was angry now. Why can't he let go of this. Why can't he understand what's there in my heart.

He chuckled. "Don't tell me if you don't want to but at least don't lie to me, Elena."

"I am not the one who lies."

He was quite for a few seconds then started speaking again.

"I saw the way you two were looking at each other or I should say into each others eyes." I might be wrong but it seemed to me that his eyes were sad. Even there was sadness in his voice.

"Do you care?" I asked him.

"Why can't you answer a question simply? Why do you always have to ask a question in return?"

"I am like this only."

"I know."

"Do you?" I asked him after a few minutes.

"Do you?" He asked me in return.

"Mason..? I was about to say no when he started speaking again.

"Was not there a single second when you thought about it while you two were dancing or at the shoot were looking into each other eyes or.." He did not continue his sentence. It was my turn to speak but I could not. How could I? I can't lie to him but I don't want to tell him the truth either because if truth to be told then yes there was a moment when I thought that if my liking for him was coming back.

Mason was patiently sitting beside me waiting for me to answer but my lips were sealed.

He nodded. "I got my answer. You don't have to say anything."

"Mason, I don't..." I started speaking but he stood up.

"It's late. We should sleep now." He stood up but then something struck in my mind, he said, 'while dancing'.

"You were there." I shouted since he had already walked a few steps away from me.

He turned around. Confusion on his face.

"At the pub. You were there. I wasn't mad. I actually saw you." I took a few steps closer to him.

The realisation him him, but all he said was, "Good night." And without looking at me he left, again. Leaving me alone in the dark with lots of thoughts clouding my mind.

It surely was a really long day. So much happened today. I slowly took the staircase to go in my room.

I laid down on my head. I was tired now both physically and emotionally. I drifted off to sleep in no time.

I woke up when I heard my phone ringing. Dad was calling.

"Hey Daddy." I said in a sleepy tone.

"Hey sleepy head. Don't you want to wake up?"

"No. What time it is?"

"It's 12:30 p.m."

"What?" I immediately opened my eyes. My Dad laughed.

"I called you to let you know that we are still at your aunt's place. We will be back by night. You will be alright, right?"

"Yup. No worries, Dad."

"Good. Now wake up and have something to eat.

"Okay. Bye. I love you."

"Love you too, princess." He disconnected the call.

I stretched my arms and got fresh. After that I went downstairs. I heard some noise from the kitchen so I went there.

Mason. He must be there. Music was playing, when I entered the kitchen I saw a beautiful sight in front of me.

There was juice poured in the jug already. Some food was also placed and then I focused my eyes on the person standing there dancing lightly on the music that was playing. His focus was on what he was cooking so he did not notice me but what I noticed was the fact that it was the second time in last 24 hours that he was shirtless in front of me. It felt as if my breath was caught. I smiled though. What if everything was like before then we would have been like this only. Every morning would have been a happy morning.

"Hey!" Mason finally noticed me. "I thought you were sleeping."

"I was but my phone rang and I woke up."

"Who called?" He asked casually while making pancakes.

"Dad." He looked at me with raised eyes.

I chuckled. "They are not coming right now. They will be late. Chill."

He nodded and placed the pancakes on the table.

I tasted them and indeed they were delicious.

"Yummm. These are so good, Mason. From where did you learn cooking?"

He laughed. "After college for a year I was in London. I was alone there so I learnt cooking. It's no big deal."

I looked at him seriously. "You are not a modest person, Mason Anderson so don't act like one."

"Really?" He laughed.

"Yeah. You are an egoistic rich spoilt brat."

He laughed again. "So that is what you think of me?"

"Yup."

"You missed mentioning smart and handsome though." He chuckled

"That's the Mason I know." I said and ignored him after that. My full focus was on the pancakes. He really is a very good cook.

"I don't mind marrying you if you keep on cooking like this." I said without even realizing what I was saying. "Shit." I hissed. Mason was looking at me.

"I mean any girl." I smiled sweetly at him and stuffed pancake in my mouth. Mason chuckled again and I gave myself a punch in my mind. Why do I have to ruin everything. There we two were having a light conversation but I have to say things without even thinking.

"I don't cook now though. I have people who do that for me." He said changing the topic and munching on the pancakes beside me.

"Such a waste. You have 1 good quality but you, what can I say now, don't ruin it."

He chuckled. I looked at him. He has a smile on his face. Wish he stay like this only. And then I realised he was still shirtless. Damn! I looked away. Finishing up my food.
