We both settled inside his car and Mason started driving.

'Can this day get even worse?' I thought. So much has already happened in this one day. As soon as I reach home I am going to sleep. I can't handle this day anymore. Who knows what will happen next.

I leaned my head on the window. It was still raining heavily outside. I looked at Mason. His face was calm now but there were bruises on his face which made me sad. It is because of me that he is hurt. If only I had listened to him rather than fighting with him then he would have been okay right now. A tear fell from my eye and I immediately wiped it.

"You okay?" Mason asked me. He sounded worried.

"Yeah." I dared not look at him right now. I miss him. I miss us. I wish I could go back in time when there was 'us'.

"Elena, look at me."

"I am fine, Mason. Just a little tired."

He touched my hand and I opened my eyes.
He was looking at me.

"Mason, please look in the front. I am okay."
He looked in the front and then at me again.
I touched his arm. "I am fine." I then rested my head on the window again and closed my eyes. I just want to reach home soon. It's a good thing my parents were not at home right now or else they would have asked so many questions.

I must have fall asleep because I did not realize when the car stopped.

I looked around but Mason was not in the car.
"Mason." I called him but no answer.
"Mason." I shouted again but he again there was no answer so I opened the door and stepped outside the car. I started looking around. It was still heavily raining. The trauma of our recent incident was still there within me. What if something bad has happened to him.

I walked a few more steps and thankfully saw Mason standing a few steps away with his phone. I walked towards him quickly.

"Mason." He turned around and I hugged him 'again' and he put his one arm around me without any hesitation.

"What are you doing outside? Go sit in the car." He said after a minute.

I pulled away to see his face.

"I woke up and you were not there. I called you but you did not answer me, so, I got scared.." He nodded.

"What happened?" I asked him.

"Car stopped. I think it's a tire puncture." He looked at his phone again.

"Now what?"

"I am trying to call at home but there are no signals."

Suddenly a bike came and stopped near us. I immediately held Mason's hand. Mason tightened his grip.

The guy removed his helmet and I exhaled.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"None of your business." Mason replied.

I looked at him and then spoke, "We were coming back from the meeting, Nate, but our tire punctured."

Nate nodded. "No worries. I'll drop you home."

I looked at Mason but he was staring at Nate as if he will kill him.

"No. It's alright. Mason's driver is already bringing another car and my home is just a few minutes away from here."

"No. You shouldn't be here right now, Elena. It's late."

"She is an independent woman. She can be wherever she wants to be. You don't tell her what to do." I looked at Mason. He was repeating my words.

"Excuse me?" Nate was a bit shocked.
