Chapter 22

Once I reached upstairs as expected I had to give the whole summary to Alice.
She could not stop herself from saying 'aww' in between our whole conversation and as of me I could not take that smile off my face.
"I can't believe this. Mr Jerk is actually a sweet guy. "
"Hey. "
"What?"
"Don't call him a Jerk." Just a tiny offended.
"Oooh, is this looove Edwards."
I slapped her on the arm.
"Shut up and do not speak in such a loud voice." I told her.
"Correction. He is not a jerk; You are." "Let's get back to the work Alice."
I started looking at the screen of my desktop.
"Let's get back to the work." Alice imitated me.
I narrowed my eyes at her and she looked away.
I carried on with my work.
Mr Juan has sent the photos of the shoot and they indeed were looking amazing. I forwarded them to Mason.
Mason and I kept talking on messages.
It was 6 already.
"Can I drop you?" Mason messaged me.
"I have my car." I replied.
"Leave it here."
"What will I say at home?" I forgot my car?"
"Say it wasn't working."
"Nops. May be some other time."
"Elena."
"Mason."
"C'mon."
"No."
"Fine."
"Come outside."
"Why?"
"I'm leaving. Just packing few things. "
"You come inside." I rolled my eyes. Lazy ass.
"You ready?" Alice asked me.
"Umm just saying goodbye to Mason."
"Cool." She shrugged.
I went to Mason's office.
I knocked on the door and entered inside.
He was doing something on his laptop. He looked up.
"Just a minute." He said.
I nodded.
I sat down on a chair and started going through my instagram account.
After a few minutes he finally left his macbook and came to me.
He snatched the phone from my hands.
"Mason Anderson. Give me my phone back." I screamed.
"No." He pulled his hand away.
"Mason. Give it back."
"Let me see what you were doing." He started going through my phone but bad luck it was already locked.
I folded my arms across the chest and stood there silently.
He looked at me "password?"
"What" I smiled sweetly at him.
"What is the password Elena?"
"My fingerprint." I told him.
He rolled his eyes. "That I know. The number code."
I shook my head.
"Naah. You are not getting that."
He extended his hand towards me in which my phone was placed but as I was about to take it he pulled his hand away.
"Naah. You are not getting that." He imitated me.
"Fine. Here take it. I'll just unlock the phone. There is nothing in there that I would have to hide from you." I said with a serious look.
Honestly I have nothing to hide. It's not like that I have someone else in my life. I genuinely am interested in Mason and want to be with him only.
"Without Trust any relationship will be a disaster. I trust you Elena. I was just kidding with you." He said.
"I know but I thought may be if I keep on saying no to you then you might think that I'm hiding something which I am not."
"I don't like to repeat myself Elena. I know you are being honest. I know you even though we were not friends before but I knew you. We had common friends. I know you have never cheated on anyone. Heck you have never been in a relationship before something that is so hard to digest but, ouch. What was that for."
He touched the point on his arm where I pinched him with a dubious expression.
"What do you mean? Why is it so hard to digest?" I questioned him.
"And here I thought I was appraising you." He shook his head.
I was about to pinch him again but he stepped backwards just on time.
"Seriously women. Here I was ranting about how I trust you and Blah Blah stuff and you only noticed that."
"I can't understand why is it so difficult to believe. That's it." I told him.
"Because of you. I mean seriously you have never been in love?"
"Love? No. Infatuation? Yes. It never felt right with anyone. Boys used to propose me but I never felt like saying yes to any of them. Almost everyone of them was a stranger for me. A friend of a friend or a random guy and I never wanted to be in a relationship with some stranger."
"What about Na.."
"He was just a friend. I don't understand that why everyone thinks that there was something between us two. He was just a friend to me."
"May be because we noticed you around him"
A smile came up to my lips.
"Why are you smiling?" Mason asked.
"You used to notice me." I said while biting my lip.
"You are crazy." He chuckled.
"What? You only said that."
"What I meant was.."
"No. No. I understood."
"No. You misunderstood."
"Lie as much as you want to now."
"Whatever. He started playing with my phone. A smile playing around his lips.
He looked so adorable right now. I could not help but admire him.
"You are staring at me." He said when he caught me staring at him.
"Like you used to stare at me." I teased him.
"Yeah right. Girls used to be around me all the time." He sat down on the couch.
I sat beside him. "Yet you never paid attention to any of them. Sad."
"Your phone." He gave it back to me.
"Don't want to look at it anymore?" I inquired.
"No."
I looked at my phone.
7 unread messages. All from Alice.
'Elena, where are you?'
'Hey! I'm waiting.'
'Busy bee. Come outside already.'
'Elena, seriously i'm leaving.'
Then I read her last message.
'Bye!'
"Fuck."
"What happened?" Mason asked.
"Alice will kill me."
I called her. But she did not pick it. As expected. Once, twice, thrice, it went to her voice machine.
"Hey! I'm sorry. I just saw your messages. Don't be angry please. Call me or wait i'll call you again. I love you. "
"What's wrong?"
"Alice was waiting for me and now she left."
"She will be okay. It's Alice."
I nodded.
"I should leave anyway. I'm getting late."
"Okay but I will pick you up tomorrow."
He pulled me by my waist. I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah right. And what will I say at home?"
"Tell them the truth."
"Cool."
"Are you seriously going to tell them?" Mason asked me while my eyes were still closed.
"May be. I don't like to hide anything from the."
He did not say anything.
"Why you don't want me to?" I questioned him.
"Don't you think it's a little early?"
"Yeah."
"Then?"
"Nothing. We will talk about it later."
He kissed me on my forehead.
"I'm happy that i'm with you." I told Mason.
"Mutual feelings, love."
I don't know but when Mason said love something just happened inside me.
Is this is what they call 'butterflies.' I thought.
I stood up from the couch.
"I'm leaving. You are not leaving yet?" "No. I have some work."
"Okay."
"But I'm picking you up tomorrow."
I smiled at him.
"Okay."
"Bye."
"Bye. I'll call you at night."
"Sure."
With that I left his room.
I took two steps forward when
"Bhoo."
"What the." I screamed and closed my eyes.
I heard someone laughing.
"What happened?" I heard Mason's voice.
I opened my eyes and in front of me was Alice.
"Alice. I hate you." I slapped her across her arm.
"I know." She laughed.
Mason was looking at us with a confused look.
"Nothing happened, Boss. Your princess just got scared." She laughed again.
"Why?" He looked at me.
"Nothing. We are leaving. Bye Mason." "Bye Boss." Alice said.
"Bye." Mason went to his office.
"What was that?" I asked Alice.
"Repercussions of your deed." She winked at me.
I shook my head. She is an idiot but I love her anyway.
"Let's go home." I took my handbag from the table.
And then we made our exit.
