He stands up and heads towards the door.

"Meet me at Sanity at 4:30. I'll show you the ropes and get your job back."

He opens the door and shoots me one last glance and a wink. I just nod as the door closes.

Sophie's POV:

I roll out of my bed slowly and stare at my closet...so many clothes but none to wear. I look up at my clock and see that it's already 4:15, so I pick out an outfit quickly. I dress in black jeans, white tee and black converse. (Who knows the reference?) I give my hair a quick brush, grab my sunnies, iPhone, purse and head out the door. It's exactly 4:23 when I close the door. I walk at my own pace, no rush.

At the last crossing I see Michael.

"Hey Soph! You came after all. And we're not even going to be late."

"You doubted me?"

"Not for one second! Let's go get you your job back. It's going to be a pleasure working with you."

"Just don't be a pervert, it will get you fired because I will tell and it could go further than that if the cops find out since we're both underage."

"I will try...but you're just so tempting!"

"Try harder and succeed!"

"Anything for you!"

We walk in, I don't even realise he's holding my hand until he lets go to open the door.

"We're just friends from now on."

He nods and walks behind the counter. I go and look at random CDs until someone taps me on the shoulder, I turn around and see Calum standing there.

"Hey Sophie. I'm sorry for what I said at school. I was going to say this during geography but you went home sick and I know it's because of me."

"Thanks for the apology, Calum. But it wasn't entirely your fault, I didn't like that Michael was touching me."

"Call me Cal. Friends?"

He extends his hand out and I shake it.

"Friends."

We are both standing there smiling at each other like idiots, until I shake my head and turn back to the CDs.

"So Soph, since you and Michael aren't dating...how would you like to join me for dinner tomorrow night?"

"Ummm...really? You want me to go to dinner with you?"

"Yeah, as friends...of course. So we can get to know each other better..."

"Oh. Okay...ummm...sure. Can you pick me up?"

"Sure. What's your number? Text me your address later."

He hands me his silver Iphone 5S and I input my number along with my name; Sophie.

"So uh...I'll see you at school?"

"Yeah. For sure."

Cal nods and walks out of the store. Michael comes up behind me with a box of CDs.

"So you ready to get your job back?"

"Huh? Oh...yeah. Right! Yes!"

I'm shaking my head.

🎶"When you shake your head no but you wanna say yes! What do you mean?"🎶

I laugh at his obvious lyric swap.

"I mean...yes. I'm ready! And you have a great voice by the way."

"Thanks...ok so the first thing you need to know is how to arrange the CDs."

"Okay. How is that?"

"Alphabetically, in Artists and artists of the same genres stay together, pop singers like One Direction with other pop artists, rock bands like ACDC with other rock artists like INXS. Got it?"

"I get that."

"So you get the CDs from these boxes and restock the shelves at the end of each shift. Just work out which album is missing using your alphabet skills. Knowing a lot about which artists brought out which albums when helps a lot too so do some research and you're sure to be hired."

I feel myself staring at Michael's lips and just subconsciously nodding at him as he is explaining this to me. His words aren't exactly being comprehended properly. I smile at him and his eyes lock with mine pulling me from my trance, he leans close and...

"Sophie! What are you doing here? I took back your shifts...You don't work here! I knew something was going on between you two. Don't let her back in here Michael or else I'll let you off too!"

I quickly stand up straight, Michael shoots me a very apologetic look.

"Mr. Johnson, it's not her fault. I told her I'd get her, her job back. Fire me and hire her instead. It's all my fault."

"Michael! Don't do this...I don't know anything about this place or anywhere near as much about music as you seem to. I need to be taught and I need to research artists and stuff, you know more about what you're doing here. This has been your job for a lot longer and you're good at it. I'm just gonna go. See ya..."

I walk back towards my home leaving Michael there to finish his shift so he doesn't lose his job, I can get a job somewhere else eventually. Sanity would have been awesome because I love music and I'd be able to buy new albums as they come out. There is some bonuses but it's not my only option. Not paying attention at all I walk straight out to cross the road. A loud HONK! fills my ears and then everything goes black!
