Chapter 53: Councillor

I'm snuggled up to his chest again, exactly like when I was at his place in Riverstone. I feel him leave. light kiss on the top my head.

"I love you, Sophia."

"I love you too, Mikey."

Michael's POV:

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I reach for it quickly to answer before it wakes up Soph. It's my councillor so I answer as I get up to leave the room. Once I'm out of the room and in the kitchen I finally talk.

"Hello?"

"Hey Michael, its Ruby. I know it's New Years and it's meant to be a holiday but I have to make an unexpected trip away tomorrow and so if you want to do our first session in person before you leave for tour and we have to use Skype for the rest. I'm only available for today, sorry."

"Yeah, well I'm in Sydney with my, uh, fiancé right now so I can come in after I've had breakfast. Is that okay?"

"Sure, see you at 11..?"

"Yep, I should be ready by then. Bye."

The line goes blank, I realise I haven't got a change of clothes and only an hour to get ready. I have enough time to drive home and then back if I rush but it's not worth it. I don't know where Soph keeps any of her food either, but I dont want to wake her up so I just get dressed into my clothes from last night. I stand in the doorway looking at her peaceful body, she's so beautiful. Before waking her up I want there to get us breakfast so I grab my keys and head down to my car to drive to Starbucks to get us some coffee, I'm gonna need it if I have to talk to a councillor.

I walk in to see that Soph on the couch, watching YouTube. I smile and walk over to her, I still have half an hour before I have to go so I sit down next to her handing her, her coffee.

"Hey baby, I hope you like it."

"Thanks, Mike. You didn't have to get anything though."

"Yeah, but I didn't know where anything was in your kitchen and didn't want to wake you."

"Did you even look? It's all simple to find if you look."

"Nah, didn't bother."

"Course not."

"Anyway, I have to go to an appointment at 11. After that I'll probably just go home."

"I know you have to go home this time since you have no clothes, and I'm not going to make you drive back again today after that. But I think I'm ready to live with you, if you're okay with moving in with me here. I missed you when I was here alone after Christmas."

"I won't rush you into anything, but if you think you're ready then I'm happy to move in with you. Everything feels so much better with you by my side. But what about touring? You gonna join us?"

"I want to, Mike, I really do. And my boss is okay with me submitting my work via email, it's just..."

"It's just...what?"

"Nothing...don't worry about it."

"No, babe, what's on your mind?"
