This brings the tears right back to to my eyes, I let them fall until is physically hurts to cry anymore.

Michael's POV:

I walk down the hall to my locker. My eyes are puffy from crying all night, my cheeks are tear stained. I see Cal so I walk over to him slowly and rest my heavy, throbbing head on his shoulder, tears slipping out of my eyes again.

"Hey Mikey! Have you talked to Sophie? She isn't answering my texts."

"No...and...she...she...won't..."

He keeps texting her until I take his phone off of him, I turn it off and put it in my pocket.

"Why'd you do that?"

"Calum...Look at me. She's in...the...hospital..."

"What? You're joking right? Please tell me you're kidding. I planned to make things up to her for being a nosy disk head yesterday at lunch. "

"No...I'm...I'm not...and I don't wanna know what you planned to do."

"What happened to her, Michael?"

The bell rang startling us, I give Cal a big hug, wipe my eyes and make my way to Roll Call. I stand infront of the classroom staring back down the hall, half expecting her to walk towards me. I shake my head and walk down the hall and leave...I didn't go to class so I don't have to sign out...I figure. I go to the hospital and sit in the waiting room, contemplating whether to ask the receptionist if she's awake. I'm not directly related, I'm not even dating her, so they probably aren't allowed to tell me anything. I hear the sliding doors open and see Cal walking towards me. He sits down on the cold seat beside me.

"I seen you leave and followed you here. I knew something was up, because you stopped wagging school a while ago."

"Thanks Cal, for following me and being here. I need someone right now, just to be with me."

I put my head back on his shoulder and let my tears stream down my face again. Cal rubs my back softly.

"You really like her don't you, Mikey?"

"I know it's...stupid. We've only been talking for 3 days. But I've liked her for ages."

"Okay, I'll back off..."

"What? What do you mean back off?"

"Can I tell you another time? I don't think it matters anyway after this. What happened to her anyway, do you know or? Can you tell me?"

"She was at Sanity...with me..."

"I know, I saw her. Wait...she was there with you?"

"Yeah, I was trying to get her, her job back. But...Mr. Johnson...my boss...didn't like that. He yelled at her and told her not to come back to the shop."

"Wow. That's brutal."

"You're telling me...anyway, she walked out and next minute I heard a loud car horn and she was on the ground."

"Wow...Michael, I'm so sorry you had to witness that. You should have called me last night after it happened, I would have skipped soccer practice and either stayed at your place or taken you back to mine. Why didn't you call me?"

"I knew you had training last night and it was important that you were there. You've got a chance to represent Australia if you keep up your skills. I'm not going to get in the way of that, Cal."

"Missing one night wouldn't matter...remember that I'm always here for you if you need me. Whether I have plans or not. I'll always be here for you, Michael."

He hugs me tighter.

"Let's go talk to the receptionist and see if she's awake."

"They won't tell us...we're not directly related to her."

"We can't just not try, Mikey...lets go."

We go to the desk and Cal talks for me.

"Hello, how may I help you two?"

"We're good...close friends of Sophie Sugg. She was in a car accident yesterday. Is she awake?"

"Close friends doesn't pass, if you're not related directly then you aren't entitled to any information. It's classified. Read the sign; Not Related, No Visit!"

"Okay...we're sorry we bothered you..."

We go back to our seats at the back of the waiting room. My head falls back to Cal's shoulder, he rubs my back softly.

"Why don't you just text your mum and get her to let us go see her?"

"One, because then she'd know I'm...we're not at school. And two, because she'll say exactly what the receptionist woman said, it's classified..."

"Come on, Mike. If she knows how you feel about Sophie and stuff she might actually tell you something. You have a better chance than anyone with your mum working here and all."

"No, Calum. I'm not asking her."

He just nods and so I rest my face in my hands trying not to cry, it's not like she'd cry this much...if at all...if it was me. Calum taps my shoulder and so I look up at him as he nods his head at something or someone in front of us. I follow his gaze and see my mum coming towards the reception desk. I hide my face in my hands and slink as low as possible in the cold, uncomfortable seat. Calum follows me lead. But unfortunately it doesn't work, she walks over to us anyway.

"Michael Gordon Clifford! Calum Thomas Hood! What are you two doing here? Why aren't you at school?"

I hear my Mum's angry voice, so I look over at her and just roll my eyes.
