I hear my Mum's angry voice, so I look over at her and just roll my eyes.

Michael's POV:

She comes over to us, I want to just pretend I don't see her and ignore her so I can avoid getting in trouble because I don't think I can explain my feeling for Sophie to my mum under these circumstances. I need support right now, more than just what Calum is giving me. Mum usually makes me feel better when I'm in the deepest slump. So I finally decide to stand up and give her a big, tight hug. She hugs me back and I'm just so grateful that she's here.

"What happened Mikey?"

"Our good friend got hit by a car yesterday...Sophie Sugg. Do you know if she's okay?"

"Whether I do or not Mikey, I can't tell you..."

"It's confidential...yeah yeah...I know...but I think I really like her, mum, as more than a friend...please."

"I'm sorry Michael. You two go home, I'll call you in sick, I'll tell you're mother about what happened, Cal. This is a situation that no person, especially young teens like yourselves, should have to deal with. I'm so sorry you had to see it happen."

She kisses my forehead and gives me another squeeze.

"I love you, mum."

"I love you too Mikey...you two go home and rest, pig out, whatever you teens do these days to destress. Here's some money to get a taxi home or buy lunch or something."

"Come on, Cal..."

"My break isn't for another 2hours or else I'd drive you home and get you some comfort food on the way..."

"Karen Clifford! You're needed in room 302! I repeat...Karen Clifford to room 302!"

Mum gives me a quick kiss on the cheek before turning and speed walking down the hall.

"Come on Cal, let's go home...Mum's right we're not related so we aren't entitled to any information about her recovery."

As soon as we get home we order a pizza and go up to my room.

"What was it that you didn't want to tell me at the hospital? About backing off from Sophie?"

"It was nothing, just that I..."

He stops when his phone starts ringing. I pick up his phone from my bedside table. It's Sophie, I hand his phone to him.

"If you get any info about her condition you have to tell me, got it?"

"Course."

Calum's POV:

"Hello?"

"Hello...uhh...Calum? It's Sophie's mother. We would really appreciate it if you didn't call or text back here. Sophie is in a pretty bad condition and so she won't be taking any messages for a while. So the messages you've been sending accusing her of ignoring you or going on a date with you are actually really disrespectful."

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to disturb or disrespect you or anything, I honestly didn't know anything happened until this morning at school..."

"Whether you knew or not, one message about where she is would have been ample. You didn't need to accuse her of anything."

"Yes, I understand and I'm sorry about that."

"So if you guys are going on a date, does that mean my daughter has a boyfriend that she neglected to tell me about."

"No, we're just friends...the date was just to get to know each other better."

"So when did you start screwing up her study time?"

"If you're wondering when we started talking then; We only just started talking during the last couple days. Anyway...I hope she gets better soon...thank you for calling by the way...Oh, and...I was wondering, when she wakes up could you please get her to call me?"

"I will see...She may be able to call you later on when she feels well enough."

"Thank you so much...Bye."

"Bye Calum..."

Michael's POV:

He hangs up, looks up at me and sighs.

"So, that was Sophie's mother."

"Did she say she would tell you when she wakes up?"

"Yeah...Sophie's going to call me when she's well enough...she didn't say wakes up...she said well enough. She might already be awake."

"I have to be with you when that happens. And that's great if that's true."

"Of course...I'll stay with you all day. I'm not gonna leave you like this. Hey lets go eat some pizza...It's gotta be here soon. Pizza isn't just my comfort food...it's my anytime food."

"Same, bro, same. Let's go pig out...as my mum put it."

We both head downstairs to collect our pizza and eat it. Calum let's me pick the movie so we watch Camp Rock. We sing to all the songs together pretending we are the Jonas Brothers. I mean who doesn't when they watch that movie. Once the movie finishes Calum takes the controller.

"We watched that on the Xbox for a reason. We are totally doing something manly after watching that movie. I challenge you to a FIFA match...I'm totally gonna slaughter your score."

"I might be upset but that doesn't mean I'm gonna lose. I'm so much better than you."

I grab a second controller so ready to kick Calum's ass, even in my current state. He totally knows what I need and when. He's the best friend I could ask for. I'd love to add Sophie into our friend group, I'm sure Calum would agree.
