This chapter and all following it will take place when Sophie and the boys are all finished school and have jobs. They are all effectively in their early 20's. The boys are now in a successful band...5 Seconds of Summer (obviously)...they are touring. They lost contact with their former girlfriends after high school ended. Before high school ended Sophie and Michael's relationship was stronger than ever. This is why Michael moving to London with the band and leaving her behind was the most difficult choice that he ever had to make.

After High school:

Sophie moved to the inner city of Sydney to be a professional artist for a very popular cartoon company. She came back into contact with Anthony and she forgave him for what happened at the Japan airport all those years ago, they are now dating.

Without further ado let's begin!

Sophie's POV:

In the car driving to work I have my radio up loud as usual and then I hear a very familiar voice. I can't quite pinpoint who it is though. I'm trying to go through my brain to match the voice to a face or name, I'm not even thinking about the road or car anymore as other familiar voices. A loud horn rings through my ears as I slam on the brakes. I feel my body jolt forward into the airbags and another car crashes into the front of mine. I can hear cars screeching to a fast stop and beeping their horns to avoid crashing into mine or the car I've hit. I start to feel lightheaded from hitting the airbags roughly, I fight to keep my eyes open but they still fall closed.

I open my eyes to an empty hospital room. I look around for someone to talk to but no one is here. I find my phone on the table next to me. I dial Anthony's number to ask him to come down and see me. But I hang up as soon as he picks up, I don't want him to think I'm totally irresponsible for destroying my car. He calls back but I decline, he then texts me but I ignore them. A nurse walks in with a trolley of food and stacks some on my table. She then starts giving me a check up.

"Good morning miss. How are you feeling?"

"A little dizzy but apart from that fine."

"Well that's a great start, your boyfriend...Michael...I think, has been here a few times."

"My boyfriend's name is Anthony, not Michael. I used to date a Michael in high school but he moved to London to pursue a career in music with his friends. Wait...that's who was on the radio...that's the reason I crashed....I was trying to work out who it was...it was Mikey. Thank you so much for that."

"I don't know what I did but that's quite okay."

"You said he's been here today?"

"Not today, but each of the past three days that you've been here. He said something about only being in town for a short amount of time and wanting to see you."

"Karen? You're Mike's mum aren't you?"

"Yeah. Sorry about telling him you're here but he's been begging me to find a way for him to talk to you, especially since he's back in the country for a couple weeks."

"That's okay. I miss him lots. It would be great to catch up."

"Since you've only just woken up after three days I'll have to keep you here for another night, just to make sure nothing goes wrong."

"Has a guy named Anthony been here at all?"

"The name isn't familiar, sorry, I don't think he has."

I pick up my phone and read the messages from him.

From Anthony❤️
Hey babe, why'd you hang up?
Where have you been for 3 days? Why aren't you talking to me?

"He doesn't even realise I'm here...I really thought he cared more than that."

"I'm sorry about him."

"Thanks, but you don't have to be."

"Do you mind if Mike comes back in today now that you're awake or would you rather wait until you are out?"

"I could use the company in here, send him in."

"Okay."

She walks out and I grab my phone and call Anthony. He picks up straight away.

"Hey babe! What's going on?"

"Did you even try to find out where I am? Do you have any idea? Why after three days, is the first time you text me, after I've called you?"

"Slow down on the questions, calm down. I was waiting for you to call or message me. I figured if you wanted me to know, you'd tell me."

"Is that how you treat me? I'm in hospital, Anthony! I was in a car crash, I was in a coma for three days and you didn't think anything of it?"

"Oh My God! Babe, are you alright?"

"Yes, not that you care."

"I really am sorry, I do care. I didn't realise that's where you are."

"If you had tried to find out where I was then you'd be able to find out. If I was in your position I probably would have called the cops looking for you by the second day with no contact and you would have like a hundred messages from me asking about your health and wellbeing. I can't believe you don't have the same amount of respect for me."

"I'm sorry babe. I do respect you and love you. I just didn't think you'd get yourself hurt, I trusted that you could keep yourself safe. I thought you were cheating on me, I did call, some guy answered it every time saying you were busy."

"I'm not cheating! It was probably a doctor or nurse. You don't trust me at all!"

"I do trust you, but if a woman answered my phone you'd think that I was cheating wouldn't you?"

"I already think you're cheating because of your attitude towards me all the time. I thought you'd changed since we first met!"

"I have...changed I mean. I promise I'm not cheating on you."

I then hear a girl's voice sleepily call out his name.

"If you're not cheating, then who was that?"

"That was my...uh...cousin. She's in town for a few days...she's staying at our house. I guess that's also why I wasn't thinking about you that much. We haven't seen each other in years so I was preoccupied with showing her around and catching up."

"I can't wait to meet her then..."

"She feels the same way about you, she asked me about you."

"If she asked about me then why did you not remember I live with you and was away for three days and start worrying?"

"I told you I was preoccupied, okay. I have to go. I love you babe."

"Yeah yeah, bye."

"Come on babe, tell me you love me."

"I love you too, now go."

I hang up the phone, not believing a single word he said to me.
