I see a random book sitting on his bedside table, I know it's wrong to snoop but what can I say...I'm no good girl.

Sophie's POV:

I take the book in my hands to have a closer look at it. The cover has music notes scattered on it and it reads; 'Song Ideas'. Not too exciting but I still am curious as to what ideas he has. I open it and flick through the pages, most of them seem to be poetic and kind of like lyrics to a song. I stop on a random page, at the top in bold letters it says, 'Teenage Queen'. I read through the song lyrics;

'She's so cool,
Rewrites the rules,
She ain't got no time for you,
She's a teenage queen.'

I think about the lyrics, they seem to fit Penny or Kate's description. Did he have a crush on them once? If he did, does he now? Which one of them is it about? So many questions burning in my head.

"Hey!"

I drop the book in fright and turn around to see Michael in the doorway.

"Snooping through my stuff are we?"

"Umm...no...um...I'm really sorry. I know it was wrong and that you trusted me not to. I just got too curious. I'm really sorry."

"Hey, it's alright. But how much did you see? What did you read?"

"Just a couple of songs...Teenage Queen...it sounds really good. If you guys don't make it...which I know you will...you could sell the song it's good."

He laughs softly and walks over to me. His hands immediately go to my waist and his lips meet mine, sending my stomach a flutter. I kiss back instantly. I bring my hands up to play with his hair, pulling his closer to me. He pulls back.

"We have to get you home..."

"Why? I'm so comfortable here, in your arms."

"I know, but I have to go to school. My parents are in the kitchen..."

"They don't know I'm here, do they?"

"No, why?"

"How can I get out without them noticing me? Then we can pretend this never happened..."

"I don't want to pretend this never happened...this has been one of the best days...and it's only 7:30."

"I know, me either. But it's easier for your parents if they don't know...and less explaining for us."

"I know. I'll distract them and talk loudly while you go out the door. I'll meet you outside in a few minutes to walk you home."

He places a quick peck on my forehead before walking towards the door. I follow him to the top of the stairs, he goes down the stairs and turns right that's the last I saw of him. I hear a loud voice, definitely Mikey's. I go down the stairs quickly and head towards the door, I turn the handle. I hear what sounds like a metal pot falling on the tiles. I go through the door and close it slowly behind me. I go to the neighbours yard and lean on a tree trunk. Minutes later I feel hands on my shoulders and see a warm piece of vegemite covered toast being held in front of my face. I take it and start walking towards my house.

"How did your parents let you out so easily?"

"I told them I had morning class with Cal so I had to pick him up."

"Smooth..."

"Not as smooth as you."

He tries to take the toast back but I hold it further away.
"You gave it to me...there's no take backs. I love food."

"I know...and I love... ...the weather today..."

"I'm just kidding, I hate vegemite. You can have it."

We arrive at my house and I go towards the tree to climb back in.

"Sophie...I called your parents last night saying you were at my house. Use the front door..."

"Why the hell would you do that?"

"For the same reason I wouldn't f*** you last night. I want a proper long term relationship with you, and for that to happen I need your parents to like me. I respect you and I want you to respect yourself the way I know you don't. I can tell you don't because of your actions yesterday and last night. Alright, I'm walking you inside."

"Michael, is that true?"

"Every word."

We walk up to the door hand-in-hand. Michael knocks three times loud, my mum opens the door and engulfs me in a hug. Michael lets go of my hand and I wrap my arms around her.

"Mum, I'm so sorry about yesterday. I was just stressed for the accident and everyone was fussing over me and I didn't want to be fussed over. I needed to be with someone that wouldn't make a big deal out of everything, it turns out Michael isn't that guy. He makes a big deal out of doing the right thing, unlike me. Don't blame him for last night, it was all me. I know that I'm probably still grounded but please let me go to school today."

"Ok...you can go to school but you're under house arrest at all times after that. We will drive you to and from school. Understand?"

"Yes..."

"Good. Go get dressed and get your stuff."

I go upstairs to get ready for school. Once I'm at the top, I blow a kiss down to Mikey. I go into my room and get changed into my uniform, brush my hair and teeth, pack my bag and skip back down stairs. I notice that Mikey is no longer here, go into the kitchen and make a sandwich for lunch. I notice dad standing near the door, keys in hand. He shakes the car keys.

"You ready?"

"Yeah."

He walks out the door leaving me to follow

I walk in to Roll Call and sit at a desk at the back of the room. Minutes later someone pushes a desk and chair next to mine and sits down.
