The perfect example of spooning.

Michael's POV:

I wake up to Sophie elbowing me in the gut.

"Michael! Gross! I can feel your...well you know! Go do something about that!"

I quickly get out of the bed and get in the shower, replaying the events from a couple days ago in that hotel room. As I finish, thoughts start popping up in my head; the voice is back.
You're such as bad person, Michael. Your new girlfriend woke up to your morning wood poking into her back. Imagine how uncomfortable she must feel. She didn't deserve that!
I quickly get dressed and stare at myself in the mirror.

"I'm fine, she's fine, it happens to everyone, it's normal."

I close my eyes and reach for the top drawer, opening it to reveal a blade I haven't used in a long time. I pick it up and hold it on my wrist, not cutting, just leaving a slight imprint.

"It's normal...I don't need this pain!"

"Michael, let me in! I know you've got a blade in your hand! Put it down!"

I reach over and unlock the door knowing she's the only person that's going to help me quit this bad habit. She immediately comes in and takes the blade from me carefully, placing it on the bench. She wraps her arms around my neck and kisses me.

"That may have been awkward, but that was not bad enough to cut over. I know you're trying to stop and I'm so proud of you. I'm glad you're letting me help you now, I love you Michael and I want you to be safe. Self inflicting pain is not keeping you safe."

"I know, thank you for trying to help me. I love you so much. I'm sorry about what you had to wake up to, the close proximity does that to me, I can't help it."

"I understand, Michael."

She takes my hand and drags us back to bed.

"It's too early for us to be up."

"You got that right."

She rests her head on my chest, my arm around her waist. We both drift back to sleep for a few hours. I wake up to her still sleeping; arm draped lazily across my stomach, head resting in the crook of my neck. I reach over and grab my DS from the bedside table, starting up my newish Pokemon game. I've almost clocked the game already, I've got all my favourite Pokemon already so I'm very content with playing alone until she wakes up and wants to go get breakfast...actually it's more like lunchtime so...brunch. I win a bunch of battles and start to get a little to excited, my whole arms tensing as I hit the buttons a little too hard. She starts to stir, so I softly stroke her back, trying to either soothe her back to sleep or at least let her wake up smoothly. I press a kiss to her forehead and she looks up at me sleepily.

"Good afternoon, Beautiful."

She just smiles at me rests her head back on my chest watching me play Pokemon. After a while she takes my DS off me; playing it herself.

"Hey, if you didn't notice, I was playing that!"

"Yeah, but I'm better at it than you and we both know it."

"I don't actually know that, I've been playing longer than you."

"Wanna bet? I grew up on Pokemon."

"Yeah, well so did I."

"I'm gonna find my DS in my suitcase and prove to you that I'm better."

With that she tosses my DS back at me and gets up.

"Let's get breakfast first. Then we can spend the rest of the day proving that I'm better at Pokemon."

We spend the rest of our week together in a similar way to today, except we share dinner with my parents in the house most nights to save us buying take out. We have so many Pokemon, Guitar Hero and FIFA battles throughout the week. It feels just like high school again. It's so perfect. Just Sophie and I in our own little world of cuddling, gaming and my few urges to cut which in the end up earning me more cuddles and kisses from her.

***
Monday Morning...

I wake up to the sound of the shower running and an empty bed. I quickly get up and get dressed; she has to go back to Sydney today to move into her new apartment as she starts works again at midday also. She steps into the room; her wavy, dark hair neatly brushed and sitting neatly over her shoulders, and wearing a professional outfit: black pants, - I notice that they aren't jeans because I remember how much she hates them - white button up top with a black jacket over the top. She walks past me and sits on the edge of the bed to put her socks and black boots on.

"Good morning, Beautiful. You look so professional, good luck with getting the apartment and work. I still wish you didn't have to leave."

"Thanks Mike, I know you don't want me to go, but you'll be just fine. I'll call you after work, we can Skype lots and you can definitely come over on my days off and I might even come back here somedays too. I've loved this past week so much, I'll miss our daily Pokemon battles but I can still kick yo ass from Sydney."

"Good luck with that! I think I proved that I'm better!"

"Never!"

She comes over and kisses me sweetly before grabbing her bags and walking towards the door. She looks back at me as she turns the handle.

"I love you, Michael."

"I love you too, Sophia."
